If leagues can deduct points from teams that go bankrupt, bribe officials, or other misdeeds, leagues can also add points when officials fuck up.

Is almost as insane. Liverpool isn't the first team to have a goal wrongly called off for offsides. It's happened hundreds and hundreds of times.

VAR is broken, that should be the focus.

That game is over, end of.
It was meant as a facetious reply … I agree the game is done and nothing will change that result. But this wasn’t a simple match turning botched call - something meaningful will have to be done by the powers that be - and that sure as hell can’t be PGMOL.

I'm sure more of us will care about Luton-Burnley tomorrow than Fulham-Chelsea today

Surely JJ Watt will be in attendance, not like he had a lot to do this weekend

Reminder there’s UCL group stage action today and tomorrow. Some highlights today include Inter/Benfica and Napoli/Real Madrid, and tomorrow we get Dortmund/Milan, Porto/Barca, Newcastle/PSG, and RB Leipzig/Man City. And @candylandriots would be rightfully slighted if we didn’t mention that Union Berlin has one of the early games today (12:45 eastern), against Braga.

Thank you! I’m on the way now and have NEVER seen so many Unioners, and it’s almost 3 hours before game time. Today is a holiday, so that helps too I’m sure.

One of my friends who’s coming to the game, asked me if he should wear red or black. I thought red, but wasn’t sure so consulted a Union message board which said (translated) “please don’t wear unred tonight.”

The VAR room wasn’t paying attention. There’s no other explanation. The communication from the on-field officials was absolutely clear

I assumed the Oli they were referencing was Michael Oliver, the fourth official. It wasn’t, it was Oli Kohout. So, Darren’s boss told them to stop the game.
