Well shit. Knew getting a win at Villa Park was going to be hard. I was honestly just hoping to share the points.

this…. Isn’t true. The replay clearly showed Havertz handling it with elbow first then with hand. Cash’s could have easily been called incidental. That was a clear handball.
I may not have seen all angles but from what I saw that wasn't obvious at all. You couldn't really tell whether the ball hit his elbow or his chest as he was drawing the arm away, then Cash handled it onto Havertz' hand, then he kicks it in.

In any case, the referee was way behind the play and the idea that he could confidently rule the goal out to begin with seems implausible if it takes Zapruder film level analysis to figure out who handled it when.

@OCST was clairvoyant with this thread title. Halfway through and the clown at is already packed. But there’s always room for more….

That take from Harrison.

Everton playing with Marcus Smart-level confidence.

Brathwaite looks injured. That would be devastating. The only CB on the bench is Ben Godfrey but if we have to punt this game I don’t care/

The mismatch here is a Mudryk- who despite his inconsistency is blazing fast- against 38 yo Ashley Young. Everton fans have only two issues with Dyche- his refusal to make subs late, and his irrational love of Young

Young coming off? Thank God. As fletch will tell you, Patterson is raw but talented and needs to play

Not sure why Poch is putting Cucharella on Tarkowski on corners. Thats some real little brother brother tackle his big brother stuff.

Do you think Patterson is coachable? Do you think he's got a fair bit of upside?
Yes. Frustrating because he hasn’t gotten a run.

it’s frustrating as hell when, for an injection of youth vigor and energy at RB, Dyche turned from Young to Seamus Coleman.

I love Coleman and Young is a serviceable backup to both fullback spots but Young is getting ALL the minutes.at RB. I’d have not played him if only because he did a full shift on Thursday.

Mudryk must be driving Poch crazy. All that speed seems completely wasted. Million dollar legs and a ten cent head. If you can’t destroy the likes of Ashley Young …

Another sub to start the half- Onana, coming off a calf problem, in for Gueye, who’s on a yellow. Good sub if Onanas calf is ok

I really like McNeil. Honest pro, gives everything for the shirt. But he's got quality too and when he finds form Everton tend to do well.
He is an extremely one sided player. His teammates call his left foot “the paintbrush.” His right is terrible

agreed that as he goes so go the Toffees. I love him.

Jackson’s clean cut look makes me feel like he should be in a sharkskin suit singing back up on “My Girl.”

They did it again!

Dyche has turned this squad into a proper unit. Killers.

If Everton’s appeal wins, they’re launching into the European places.

Is there a comp in all of sports for what Chelsea have done? Insane spending on talent ranging from agreed-upon stars to absolute head scratchers, horrific results, and absolutely no path forward? Most teams that spend like this at least have some modicum of success, and most insane outlays of player money tend to be for a couple of spots, not an entire squad.

First two to come to mind are Prokhrov's spending after taking over the Nets and Washington whenever Snyder would spend big. In all three, it is just grabbing available players at top dollar with little discussion of why.

The recent version of the Padres to some extent.

Nkunku getting hurt before the season really hurt. Also, Reece James was one his way to becoming a top three right back but injuries have ravaged his last year. If those two can get back healthy after the new year, I could see Chelsea going on a run.

Udogie has a tap in after some fine play by Son, drop of the shoulder, beats his man, ball across the six yard box - goal. That's what Spurs do, score first...then they fuck it up. Can they build on this lead?

Newcastle not quite but just about running on fumes.

Richy seems to have picked up another ill-advised neck tattoo since I last managed to look directly at him.
