    Ladies. Gentlemen. Stripes.

Last night was great. I mean really, really great. I can't ever recall sticking my finger in so many people's faces in such a short period of time. It was a three hour party, and it was the best one of my life. As I was driving home from Riverside after our boys once again exposed Luongo for the fraud he is, I threw on the greatest song ever written.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSR6ZzjDZ94

The lyrics don't do Mr. Delp justice - but there is one verse that stuck out to me.

There is no collection of people that know the suffering Bruins fans have endured the last 39 years moreso than the group in this forum. Too many men. Petr Klima. Mayday. Tim Taylor. Scott Walker. 3-0. While the details of each series aren't exactly fresh in our memories, the pain is reinforced tenfold every time the Bruins of the past have found a way to lose in increasingly heartbreaking fashion.

There are 60 minutes standing between the Bruins and both the erasure and validation of all these hardships.

Wednesday, June 15 2011 has the chance to be the greatest day of many of our lives - certainly mine. In the way stand a greasy I-talian with a glove made of provolone, a whiny, emo dirtbag who disgraces this great nation, and a couple of ginger Swedish meatballs.

Wednesday, we will not be denied. Tim Thomas, David Krejci, Zdeno Chara, Milan Lucic, Dennis Seidenberg, Patrice Bergeron, Andrew Ference, Brad Marchand, and, in his last NHL game, Mark Recchi will not fucking be denied. Wednesday, we rape and pillage the city of Vancouver with our massive hockey schlongs.

Protect the Civic. Kill the Canucks. Win the game. Bring home Lord Stanley's Cup.

This has been one of the stranger years of my life. Lots of highs, lots of lows, everything in between. Through it all, RMPS has always been there for me.

There's not much left to be said. The Bruins have a chance, in a winner take all game, to win the Stanley Cup. Something we've all wanted to see for most (or all) of our lives.

I can't think of a team more deserving than this years Boston Bruins. I can't think of a fan base more deserving than the friends I've made in here.

To quote one of my favorite bands, H2O -

No one said it was gonna be easy, but I'm not afraid to try. With the odds stacked up against me I would have to fight. One Life. One Chance, Gotta do it right.

    One game. One chance.

It's been a great season guys.

    Go B's

What an amazing ride this has been, no matter the outcome tomorrow I will always unconditionally love the 2010-2011 edition of the Boston Bruins. That being said, this is an opportunity of a lifetime and this team will seize the day, Go Bruins.

Sidenote: How the fuck did they allow Raymond to skate off the ice with such a serious injury to his spine?

Destroy them. You know you can. LaPierre, Burrows, and Luongo have been yapping long enough. Rip their tongues out their throats and end it.

I'm flying to Las Vegas tomorrow. I just spent $175 to change my flight so I arrive in time for the game.

I'm not even upset about it. It's what must be done.

That's why I thought it was a hip injury or something like that. It also looked like he couldn't lift his left leg up to get onto the bench. Kesler had to support it up.

Last night's events prompt my first post on SoSH as this story is worthy of sharing. My son is 10, absolutely loves playing almost any sport (including hockey, one of his favorites) be it in a league or just pick-up with friends. He enjoys also going to see his siblings' and friends' games as well as Red Sox, Sea Dogs and other pro and semi-pro games, BUT does not yet appreciate the thrill of really following "your" team through a season, or through the years, and does not like to watch sports on television despite my gentle encouraging.

Last night, for the first time ever, he was the one to remind me that there was a B's game on TV. I was busy helping his older sisters with homework and had not yet gotten around to putting the game on. It was near bedtime for him so I asked if he wanted to watch a bit with me before bed. He agreed, only the second time he has done so and the first was years ago. I let him watch a total of a little over 5 minutes of game-time and we saw all four first-period goals, the first of which came about 30 seconds after we began to watch. I was blown away by our luck and immediately dubbed him the Bruins' Lucky Leprechaun. He can not stop talking about how thrilling watching the B's was - "Wow Dad you were right, this (NHL playoff hockey) is great!" "It was so sweet!" "Epic!" He now can't wait for game 7 and plans to watch the entire game with me. Neither can I, and now for one more precious reason than I otherwise would. Win it for my boy, Lucky Leprechaun, the latest and to me greatest B's fan ever!

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers. For he today that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother; be never so vile. This day shall gentle his condition. And gentlemen in England now abed shall think themselves accursed they were not here, and hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks that fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.

This is it. Holy hell. I have no fingernails left. Nothing much more to be said, other than the bruins represent all that is good in the [hockey] world and that the nucks are the toal opposite. Protect the Civic. Win.

Also, I just finished my first year of law school and my friends thought I was absolutely nuts for 2 reasons: 1) actually making time to watch sports and 2) choosing to watch the Bruins over the Celtics (I had to prioritize). Well, for those of you (can I say us?) who have been following the team closely this year, you knew there was something special. Even through the doldrums of the late winter skid, this team defied expectations (both good and bad) at every opportunity. When the stakes go up in the playoffs and everything is magnified, this team got their shit together like PC and all of us hoped they would. Really, the way this team is playing is the only way it can win big - no rhyme or reason --> a blowout one night, then a 1-0 nailbiter the next.

Well gentlemen, I'm here to tell you that I believe. Yes, I believe that G7 will be a conservatively played low scoring game. You're scared you say because these scorelines haven't favored us recently? Realness says "fuck off nancy."

VAN has no pride in their team, nor should they. Where would a Nucks fan have to go outside, grab a lawnchair, and defend his high-performance vehicle? PSK says "Protect the Civic."

It's time. It's our time. I'm freaking out, and this is what I do to contain myself why maintaining a composed appearance in the office.

    onto;non;oanetgnjntjt. I need a drink.

Gotta believe the forward lines will be something like:

    Louise - Thelma - Burrows
    Higgins - Kesler - Lapierre
    Torres - Malhotra - Hansen
    Glass - Bolduc - Oreskovich

I grew up in central MA and root for the Bruins just because they're from Boston. Not a hockey fan, though I've been wrapped up in the excitement of these last couple series and have enjoyed watching them.

For you guys who are real Bruins fans, I'm really pulling for you. 39 years is too long.

Follow Marchand's lead. Rip the throats out of these cowards.

This makes more sense actually. Vigneault has no faith in Bolduc, and would probably rather re-insert Tambellini.

Hi, I'd like an order of Luongo Tambellini, please?

Waiter, crouching down to eye level: "Whats up, sport. How's everything with the meal, you like the Luongo Tambellini?"
PSK: "Fuck no. Way too greasey."

You forgot, he'd ask me as I was taking the bite.

Brad Marchand has set the precedent on what I will do to the next waiter that interrupts my meal with such a banal inquisition.

    Hey Cavemen,
    Sharpen up your sticks
    We'll drive that wooly mammoth
    right off the cliff!

(Luongo being the greasy wooly mammoth)

    Now cavemen,
    gather round the flames
    we'll eat the meat
    and divide up what remains

    Chorus:
    Rejoice!
    Cavemen Rejoice!
    Rejoice!
    Cavemen Rejoice!

    Hey Cavemen
Now that we are a team
We'll attack those other cavemen (vancouver)
    across the stream

    We'll sneak up
    ready for a fight
We'll steal their skins and weapons (civics and mothers)
    in the dead of night

    Repeat Chorus

That the Bruins would win the stanley cup was destined. It was not predicted, but it was bound to happen. There is one among us who set the wheels in motion for this epic journey. Canoe trips, dodgeball, placing his nutsack in a vice,... from these humble beginnings, and in a fit of whimsy, a promise was made.

The gods of hockey heard the promise.

The gods of hockey were slowly drawn out from their slumbers, so that they might look upon mortal man, wearing a bra on his head and provoking their wrath.

The gods, however, were not angry. No.

The gods laughed and they said "let it be so" and it came to be.

Now, here we stand, collectively, before an epic game 7, as a team, as a city, as a message board.

For this we should all thank AMcGhie.

Personally, I have no interest in seeing photos of your fiancee but the promise was made and we now stand before the threshold of greatness.

Honestly, win this one for guys like PSK. I don't know anyone else who has been waiting for this moment as much as he has been.

It has been a tremendous season, and I am glad that I got to see them all four times (including one pre-season game) here in Montreal, once in Boston, and once in Long Island. This story ends tomorrow with a win.

Capitalize early. Score goals. Protect the net/Civic.

Win Game 7. There's nothing else.
