10 years in the big leagues yet only 935 total games. Only 3 seasons of more than 130 games played, all others were less than 100.Jed lowrie would have been one hell of a player if he could have stayed healthy
Curious about this, I took a look at the pitchers he raised his OPS from .649 to .765 against:Moncada with a big day (4-4 with 5 runs scored) is up to a .765 OPS now.
The writer isn't covering himself in glory either:Jon Lester turning into a horse's ass.
But staked to a 4-0 lead before he took the mound, Lester pounded the vicinity of the strike zone with a steady diet of fastballs ranging from 91 mph to 94 for six innings that looked as strong as any he had thrown since last month.
“A guy fell into him and got nacho cheese on his arm and now he’s taking pictures and signing autographs. It shows you where our society’s at right now with all that stuff.”Jon Lester turning into a horse's ass.
Yeah, and I can call him a horse's ass for acting like one.Jon Lester helped win two World Series titles and pitched a no-hitter after returning from cancer. He can take whatever stance he wants on nachos.
Edit I mean two Red Sox titles. I forgot about the other one.
Speaking of Shaw, over his last 29 games and 117 PA, .202/.276/.327. Doesn't include today's 0/2. His fly ball luck ran out.
Moncada supposedly switched to a lighter bat at his teammate's urging and attributes some of his success to that.Moncada's last 12 games, 55PA: .333/.414/.604, .429 BAbip. 6bb/16k, 4 HRs. BAbip is awfully high and it's September callups but he's had a nice stretch.
Carlos Asuaje has now played 85 games and accumulated 326 PA. He's slashing .271/.333/.366. Over his last 190, he's not fairing so well though: .241/.308/.318 on a .307 BAbip. 14bb/42k.
Margot is now at .269/.320/.419 over 517 PA. He turns 23 tomorrow. He's been much better over his last 58 games, 236 PA: .284/.339/.474 with 9 doubles, 4 triples and 8 HRs. In his first 65 games, 281 PA: .258/.304/.373. I really hated when they traded him but I don't hate the trade. I just had this feeling he was going to turn into a better player than JBJ and that his power would develop better than people projected. You could argue he's been better this year, offensively and defensively. 2.0 oWAR, 1.4 dWAR in 123 games, while Bradley is at 2.0 oWAR, 1.5 dWAR in 129. Overall, they are both at 3.1 WAR for the year. Granted, you could make the argument Bradley is having an off year but this is also Margot's rookie year and he's been hampered by injuries all season. Also 4 1/2 years younger.
Heh, Craig Kimbrel though.
I thought Davis gave up the slamThe one run was due to Edwards giving up a granny but you left out the most important part, he picked off Ryan Zimmerman.
ha, that was strangely prescient of you, considering tonights outcome in L.A

too bad Ortiz couldnt just play forever
Isn't that when a young David Arias beat Arod in home run derby?Ortiz refused to talk to ARod for a couple years after the public comments by ARod's attorney during the Biogenesis mess, I always wondered why Papi had a change of heart last year. Perhaps he reminisced about their days together in Seattle's system.
Sure was ... and he beat Griffey in that same derby.Isn't that when a young David Arias beat Arod in home run derby?
Hitless in 12 postseason PAs and benched for Aaron Hicks. $21 million a year doesn't buy you as much as it used to. Luckily there's only 3 more years to go on that contract!Jacoby Ellsbury didn't get to the World Series.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/early-lead/wp/2017/10/24/injured-adrian-gonzalez-goes-on-vacation-as-his-dodgers-begin-world-series/Dodgers fans knew their team would play the World Series without Adrian Gonzalez, but it might surprise a few of them to learn that the veteran first baseman won’t be with the team at all. After being shut down for the season in late September with a stubborn back injury, Gonzalez is vacationing in Europe as his teammates battle for a championship against the Astros.
That blows my mindSome former 1B for the Sox decided to take a vacation during the World Series

What instincts? Shank's entire anti-Agon argument has been that he's been on some teams that have collapsed, therefore he must be the reason. "The Cooler." It's fucking simplistic and stupid, and even Shank admits today that AGon's Sept/Oct numbers aren't bad at all.Say what you will about Shank but his instincts about Gonzalez weren't wrong. Something has always been off about the way he carries himself for a guy making the kind of money he does.
As a replacement for Pedroia? Deja vu.I've heard that former utility infielder Alex Cora may get a new job.
I thought it had nothing to do with his numbers and having to do with being a "clubhouse lawyer." Or a lawyer of some sort anyway. What instincts?
