Semis are re-seeded by regular season pointsHow does the 3rd round work? Are the 4 teams re-seeded by record or has it already been predetermined which divisions are playing each other?
This seems really stupid in a year where the divisions didn't play each otherSemis are re-seeded by regular season points
Agree. But take it up with Bettman et al.This seems really stupid in a year where the divisions didn't play each other
That's b/c it hasn't been announced yet. The NHL applied to the Canadian Health ministry for a travel exemption but haven't heard anything. If it fails the Canadian team will have to take up residence in a U.S. city and play their games there - the rumor was it'll be in Chicago.Plus I still cant find how the Canadian division team is going to be handled for the semis vs US based teams.
which will be huge disadvantage if they are basically at a neutral site and the opponent has home games with 10-20k peopleThat's b/c it hasn't been announced yet. And Price is doing a Price. But he's still the most awesomest goalie in the world.Toronto is doing a Toronto.
That is correct. So I think we are probably well advised to root for (1) other than Toronto and (2) Carolina over TB (duh).Tomorrow's game 7 could finalize the matchup for the Bruins in the next round, if they are so fortunate to get there. The remaining teams are clustered in regular season points by division.
If the Leafs make the final four, Bruins would be 4th in the reseeding and face COL/VGK winner. If Habs win tomorrow or Jets win the next series, Bruins would be 3rd in the reseeding and face CAR/TB winner. Either way, no home ice.
No holiday in Canada. Maybe those ratings are more important? Its preposterous the NHL couldn't figure a way to stagger two hockey games on a holiday. Give the Bruins a 3pm start, and game 7 at 7:30. Its honestly like they aren't even trying.
I just want to note somewhere that a Bruins Canadiens Stanley Cup Final is still a possibility. If the Leafs make the final four, Bruins would be 4th in the reseeding and face COL/VGK winner. Can you even imagine the Bruins lifting the Cup in Montreal's barn? They wouldn't get out of town alive.I just want to note somewhere that a Bruins Canadiens Stanley Cup Final is still a possibility.
