Which surely favors England, on balance. The ref has a great hold of this game so far.
agree...both sides being overly dramatic and he’s just dismissing the nonsense. The ref has a great hold of this game so far.
Gold Cup will have the opposite problem usually. We get dudes getting their clocks cleaned and need refs who will actually call the fouls. The ratio of fouls to ref telling people to get up is amazing. Can we bottle this guy for the Gold Cup?
He only needs one to work outHow many blind alleys does Sterling try to dribble down in each match?
The irony is he makes it through a lot of the time, and then his final touch is borderline treasonous. How many blind alleys does Sterling try to dribble down in each match?
don't listen for their call in shows, just the match commentary. Proudfoot is solidA lot of people call it "TalkShite" over here, FWIW.
Um… No?According to a text from my 80-year old father, Italy are in panic mode.
I think he means that HE is in panic mode (assuming he is rooting for Italy).According to a text from my 80-year old father, Italy are in panic mode.
Try watching the world feed of the Tour de France. 5 hours at a time, they play the thing every 90 seconds. I’m murderous.I think he means that HE is in panic mode.
On an unrelated note, the periodic UEFA Euro jingle is making a bottle of bleach look better and better by the playing.
concur. Italy had some nice possesion and racked up the touches in the last 20 of the first. But didnt create much in the final third. This game is pretty much as expected, except for the goal where England got six players into the box on a quick counter.
England have only one shot: the goal. Possession is 65/35 Italy. Neither team has created much. But England converted their one decent chance and that's the difference now. Unclear how Italy are going to be able to create anything from open play unless England just screw something up. That back 5 + 2DMs shape just leaves no space to attack. If Italy are going to get back into this, I feel like it's going to have to come from a dead ball or a penalty.
Chelsea just 5221 their way to a CL title and now England may win a Euro this way. It’s a tough way to score but it may be the evolving answer to Pep/Klopp all attack systems. It’s something to watch for me we may see many teams look to adopt as it is such a hard formation to break down. This game is pretty much as expected, except for the goal where England got six players into the box on a quick counter.

With Bonucci and Chiellini, how can you get Italy into a back 3? The England trident will eat whoever pushes wide alive.I think a team like Italy need to move to a back 3 and get more men forward. It is risky but the men in the ball right now have so few options that you just need more people to force the defenders to shift and open up space
