Not really what he said. He said either Subban is suspended or it's the same penalty for the Sens if one of the Habs players is similarly slashed.

CBC really, really hates the Senators.
No.... he means that if Subban doesn't get suspended and one of the Montreal players gets slashed, then the Ottawa player better not get suspended.BoSoxFink said:which essentially means what the tweet above says.
to me it sounds like he is threatening to do that if he isn't suspended.LogansDad said:No.... he means that if Subban doesn't get suspended and one of the Montreal players gets slashed, then the Ottawa player better not get suspended.
The tweet makes it sound like he is threatening to have one of his players slash someone.
@Real_ESPNLeBrun: NHL discipline chief Stephane Quintal confirms P.K. Subban not facing any more discipline for slash on Stone. Penalty last night sufficed.

I agree with you completely. His histrionics are unbelievable. He high sticks a guy in the face and somehow manages to talk his way out of the penalty. He's constantly flopping and faking, I honestly don't understand why guys don't take more runs at him. One professional basically trying to break another's hand/wrist? These guys detest that stuff.
I mean, we have Marchand on our team and our fans get pretty down on him when he even approaches this line. Subban finds the line, jumps over it, pisses on it, then moves 20 yards past it. Regularly. I just couldn't root for the guy.
TheShynessClinic said:
He's a top 5 defenseman in the league. Marchand is lucky to crack the top 50 forwards. It'd be real easy to root for PK were he on the Bruins.

I know this is a very conventional wisdom and something everyone loves saying. I'm just telling you I really disagree. I don't particularly care how good he is (and he is very good when he isn't being a cheat or a moron), I wouldn't be able to root for him.
TheShynessClinic said:
And that's fine. Everyone has a line of what they're willing to tolerate as a sports fan. I'm just not comfortable saying that what PK does, and what Marchand, or Lucic does is all that different. I think Lucic is a punk - but I can still cheer for him.
Subban has the potential to be the best D in the league, and right now he's not that far away. He also seems like a complete class act off of the ice. I can deal with a little theatrics on the ice for his level of performance. You may not be able to.
Nailed it. I hate Subban too, but it's probably because he plays for the Canadiens and dives way too much. However, Lucic as seen above and Marchand are also douchebags on the ice as well.kenneycb said:
That area, too, is unpadded.

I'm trying to figure out which crew from Rogers/CBC/HNiC got that series. At first, I thought it was the crew that does their Saturday night games on City, but it doesn't quite sound right to be them. Regardless, yeah, they came off in just the highlights as a Montreal home crew and not a national voice.

Greg29fan said:The Habs are certainly detestable but with Ottawa everything is some massive conspiracy against them or their players. Ergo, they both suck.
I'm not normally this guy, but unless I'm missing sarcasm somewhere...Jettisoned said:
Totally man, thinking that Subban meant to injure someone by swinging his stick like a lumberjack at their wrist is pretty much on par with being a 9/11 truther.
Jettisoned said:Fucking blatant attempt to injure from Subban. Fucking puck is nowhere near the play and he slashes Stone right on the wrist where there's no padding at all. You can fucking tell they had this shit planned out before the game too.
Not to mention he played roughly half his career in mon and pk is a repeat offender, if that doesn't warrant at least an extra game what does?MiracleOfO2704 said:I'd really love to hear Quintal's explanation on how that was just a penalty and not a deliberate intent to injure. Wait, don't bother, because unlike the early Shanaban days, we won't see a video exonerating Subban. It's back to the Campbell dartboard days.
MiracleOfO2704 said:I'm not normally this guy, but unless I'm missing sarcasm somewhere...
Honestly, Quintal's playing career isn't a factor to me. In fact, Colin Campbell was in a worse position his last couple years because he's have to recuse himself from disciplinary actions if his son played on a team involved (hence, Mike Murphy working the Chara non-suspension in 2011).j44thor said:Not to mention he played roughly half his career in mon and pk is a repeat offender, if that doesn't warrant at least an extra game what does?
cshea said:Pens have much better ES numbers, so they should have a chance. They generally control play and it's tough to say a Crosby/Malkin team is going to get rolled. The did look very disinterested down the stretch though, and they won't have Letang.
Also, Fleury probably already crapped his pants today in the hotel room when he woke up and realized it is a playoff day. That'll be tough for Pittsburgh to overcome.
LogansDad said:Rangers strike first as Crosby goes Full Ovechkin.
Yeah, but it's fun to watch Crosby standing still like his controller disconnected.Greg29fan said:
um that was on Fleury 100%.
