I can't believe he's convincing me that he's a useful player. He's been outstanding defensively and on the PK the last 4-5 games.

The Rangers are playing some great hockey right now. If Lundqvist keeps this up Montreal has no chance.

Nice game from the Rangers. Lundqvist was very strong, only a fluke goal beat him.
 
Also nice to see a good game from Kreider. Unfortunately he now looks like a keeper for the Rangers.

So...what are the Rangers doing that theBruins could not? I'm pleased to see Montreal getting their asses kicked but I'm very frustrated that the Bruins weren't the team doing the ass kicking.

Seriously. If the Bruins finish half of their chances (be it posts hit, missed open nets, etc) they beat Montreal in 5.

Knocking out Price? This already unwatchable series has become super-unwatchable in a hurry. That, and the SSS of a short series that can cause (bad) luck to take the day. And I have no idea what happened in Games 6 and 7.

I know his mom passing stinks for anyone, but speaking strictly in a hockey-related context, I don't have much regard for pouting his way out of Tampa.

Edit: Plus it's the Rangers, and I'd rather root for Hezbollah than see any good fortune come their way. The only people that root for that team are those that swore a blood oath to a dying friend. That's why there are so many in ties at games: they had to come directly from the funeral.

I have no issue in rooting for the Rangers out of the East, and winning the Cup in general.

Fuck the Habs for everything they represent.
Chicago beat the Bruins last year so there are still some hard feelings there.
I dated a girl who works for the Kings so I can't endorse anything that brings her happiness.

When was the last time the Rangers did anything to really hurt Bruins fans? There's no one on the team that's truly despicable (not including the coaching staff). They're the least bad of the worst.

I always found Torts to be amusing more than anything else. I've never hated him. I wouldn't want him to coach my team, but he's fun to have around the league from an entertainment stand point. I loathe Vigneault (especially with Ulf on his staff) so seeing him prosper sucks. Other than that, I'm rather indifferent towards the Rangers. Meh.

I'm actually on the Blackhawks bandwagon. Fun, ridiculously good team.

Can someone explain the Boyle hate to me? I get the stuff about him being soft, etc, but then I see stuff like "despicable" (and you're not the only one to feel like that about him). What don't I know?

He's the softest 6'7" player this side of Hal Gill. He dives, embellishes, and agitates. When he gets involved in a scrum, he makes sure he grabs the smallest guy on the other team.

The league is looking at the highest rated Stanley Cup Final ever if it's Rangers-Blackhawks. The officiating is not going to favor Montreal in this series no matter how much the coach whines.

I'm a relatively-recently-converted fan of playoff hockey, and don't have anything worth terming a sense of the history of the game.  I know that the Canadiens are basically the Yankees of hockey in several respects.  But even if all I was doing was tuning in at the start of the first round of the playoffs, my rooting interests in this series were painfully obvious: the Habs are flopping and whining.  I went to the Rask-falls-on-his-ass game at the Garden last spring and got a raft of shit from Rangers fans (especially after the OT winner), but I haven't seen anything from the players that would make me hate them.  But meanwhile even as a relative newcomer, I can see exactly why all of you feel like, if God were to give the NHL an enema, they'd stick it in at the Centre Bell.

I would like to think I was a normal high school kid that transformed into an insufferable dbag during college, a stint of douchebaggery that has carried on many years past.  But again, that's only the opinion of a douche bag after the fact.
