A-10 got 6 and the A-10 as a whole is a better conference by a good amount than the AACPlantiers Wart said:Well, UConn couldn't handle a 4 seed in three games.......
No respect for the mid-major AAC. Only 4 teams in, while A-10 got 5?
Hard to project who they will play. UNC has played well lately, but Virginia is the lowest rated 1 seed. Villanova and Iowa St are weak 2 and 3 seeds. Then again Mich State as a 4 seed is perplexing.Deathofthebambino said:PC would potentially have to go through UNC, Iowa State, Villanova and Virginia to reach the final 4. I'm not sure I see a tougher road in any bracket for any team. Obviously, as an 11 seed, they aren't supposed to have an easy go of it, but that's a murderer's row. I'll be really happy for them if they just get by UNC.
You're crazy and if it does happen every single person in your pool will be in the same boatConigliarosPotential said:Am I crazy, or does Michigan State-Delaware not have a "my bracket is ruined before dinner on Thursday" sort of feel to it?
Michigan State was the preseason favorite by many to win the championship. They're rounding into form and Izzo's probably the best tournament coach in history (my opinion of course). So, crazy is a good call.ConigliarosPotential said:Am I crazy, or does Michigan State-Delaware not have a "my bracket is ruined before dinner on Thursday" sort of feel to it?
ConigliarosPotential said:Heh...in general I think one should be wary of a power conference team that overachieves to win its conference tournament, particularly when that means it has played its third game in three days only four days before its March Madness opener on the other side of the country. Maybe Delaware isn't the team to cause this particular shock, but if it happens, don't say you weren't warned...

Something like 80% of commentators are picking Michigan State to win the regional, 15% are picking Iowa State, and maybe 5% are picking Virginia. Absolutely no one is picking Villanova however.
After watching Virginia play for the last two and a half months, I feel very comfortable with them going toe to toe against anyone. Obviously, Michigan State, when healthy is a tremendous team and will be a tough battle if both UVA and MSU make it to MSG. Just think everyone is severely underrating UVA given the way they have continued to grind out Ws against excellent teams in the ACC over the last few months. Their defense yesterday against Duke was absolutely clinical.

Kenpom, Sagarin, RPI, BPI, the AP poll and coaches poll all have Nova as a Top 8 team and higher than MSU. How silly can it be?Average Reds said:Nova as a 2 seed is silly. They should have switched places with MSU.

Those 3 and the loss to Syracuse are it. With several big wins. That is three losses to 3 seeds 1 to a 15 seed.Average Reds said:
I think those measures put far too much weight on the November wins over Kansas and Iowa and not enough focus on the fact that they were crushed twice by the only other strong team in their conference (Creighton) before losing to a decidedly mediocre Seton Hall team in the conference tournament.
I get how the seeding came about, but IMO the formulas sometimes miss the bigger picture. Nova and MSU are the two teams where that fits for this regional. (Note: I say that as a fan of Villanova and with hatred in my heart for MSU.)
Virginia is my pick for the first 1-seed exit, FWIW. That is, I'll be taking the points until they're out.bsj said:Virginia is my title pick FWIW.

Any team that lost to that Illinois team that I saw in the first half at Harry's Arena, isn't a #1 seed, sorry.Average Reds said:
The team that won the tournament last weekend is a 1 seed, and the reason they are being treated with such deference is that everyone outside of the NCAA Tournament Committee appears to recognize it.
Schools get about 1250 each. I believe one gets 108-109, another gets 105-106, another 118-119, another 115-116. I'd call the school(s) maybe they will divulge which sections are for their donors. Most should be "public" seats, especially upper level.VORP Speed said:Does anybody know how the seating at MSG will work? Are there sections set aside for each team? I'm going to get some tix on Stubhub, I think. Prob will just go for the best seats, but curious if I should shoot for one area over another.
