I looked it up. Pomeranz is old Latin for "fruit of the ants". It's true. Trust me.
I saw that there's two threads with topics tangentially related to his pitching (the trade deal thread and the Padres being sneaky hiding his fragile mental state from us thread), but nothing that Sprowl or any of the other posters that know things can really chime in on discussing his pitching and future with the team.
So far he's been a disappointment... he started horribly and has been slowly improving... and finally today it feels like his AL coming out game. Against a tough opponent he went 7 2/3 innings. Still seems suddenly HR prone when he was noticeably NOT HR prone prior to his coming to the Sox.
If he pitches like this or close to it for the remainder of the season and through the playoffs (because we'll likely make the playoffs if he continues to pitch like this.... everything else staying steady, of course!) we'll be looking real good on the trade deal in just half a season.
Go Ant-Fruit!
