ORL is a bad matchup for PHI as they are the one team that PHI just can't play over.Lol Magic barely hold onto an 11 point lead with 1:30 left, as the Sixers hit five threes and Fultz and Fournier combine to brick five free throws In that span. Magic sneak off 98-97 as Embiid misses the potential game-winner at the buzzer (off a Ben Simmons steal of the final Magic inbounds pass, which was as predictable as a Star Wars movie).
Philly is still the far worse matchup for the Celtics with their defense, if they meet up in the playoffs I’d really want home court. That means I’ll root against Philly when playing anyone except the Lakers, at least until seeding is essentially final.Do we root for philly vs. Miami on Saturday?
If your question is do Celtics fans root for both teams to get a super virus that features mono, pink-eye and mild c-diff, the answer is yes.Do we root for philly vs. Miami on Saturday?
The first two seeds in the East are so valuable, I'd root for whatever makes it more likely that we'd avoid the carnage of the 3-6 and 4-5 matchups. I think that means root for Philly, which feels like a team that will do just enough to land the 4 seed.Do we root for philly vs. Miami on Saturday?
This team is interesting. Its a bunch of mostly seasoned NBA rotation guys plus D Lo and Draymond. They play an old school style of physical defense and they are shrewd. It will be fascinating to see what happens when Curry comes back.Led by Damion Lee, Ky Bowman, Glenn Robinson III, et al., plus a suddenly born-again defense, the Warriors seem to have temporarily parked the tank.
I’m rooting like crazy for Miami in every game. They’re a good 2-3 matchup for the Celtics, and that makes Miami/Indy/Philly have to go through a bloodbath to get to the conference finals. I’d way, way rather play Miami than Indy with Oladipo. The first two seeds in the East are so valuable, I'd root for whatever makes it more likely that we'd avoid the carnage of the 3-6 and 4-5 matchups. Yes having Milwaukee clean out Philly in the 1-4 semi is our path through the East. That said don’t sleep on Miami making a major trade that makes them a much tougher out.I’m rooting like crazy for Miami in every game. Of course it goes without saying that getting the 2 seed is better than the 3 seed, but the key thing is having Miami be the team on our side of the bracket, since they match up really poorly with us. (This is all assuming Toronto drops some losses with Siakam out.)
Agreed. We’ve cleared a major west coast trip that they haven’t.I’m not yet conceding the 1 seed to Milwaukee. Only 2 back in loss column. Let’s go!
Good for the Warriors! Isn't it more fun to root for "the little team that could" than a team that is supposed to win? As a Thunder fan, I don't miss the expectations that OKC is supposed to be good. Every win seems like a blessing, like something that had to be earned rather than given.Led by Damion Lee, Ky Bowman, Glenn Robinson III, et al., plus a suddenly born-again defense, the Warriors seem to have temporarily parked the tank.
Hey, I'd love it for the pick...Milwaukee is one GF balky back from being quite ordinary, while Boston has shown they can win with injuries at the top of their roster. The Bucks have had clear sailing so far this season. Let's see how they react when some difficulties come there way.
They severely lack shot creators and playmakers. I have no idea why a DeRozan deal hasn’t happened yet his skill set fixes many of the Magic woes.ORL is a bad matchup for PHI as they are the one team that PHI just can't play over.
That being said, I have no idea how ORl is 14-17 with all of the talent they have.
Also maybe it's just one bad game but Jonathan Issac doesn't seem to have gotten any better than last year.
if Cauley-Stein wants a Looney deal (3yrs for $15MM) this summer do the Dubs re-sign him for their 2yr Championship run? If not, they should deal him for a pick. For BC hoops fans, some Sky Bowman porn ...

Kerr noted post-game that Ky and Damion Lee are two of the team's top seven rotation players right now, which puts the team in an awkward spot since they're both on two-way contracts, with only 11-12 pro days left. Don't be surprised to see the Warriors make a move to guarantee their contracts, possibly involving trading Alec Burks — which would suck, since Burks has been mostly great all season, is the team's most natural scorer off the bounce outside of DLo, and seems like a really chill and likable dude to boot. But when you go down the roster, there aren't many other players on expiring contracts that are as easily tradable as Burks. Everyone can use likable 6'-6" guys who can score, shoot threes, and guard multiple positions.
I was thinking WCS might be the guy, but he's been great lately, especially on D; and with Loon's ongoing health issues, they can't really afford to be throwing away quality centers, even in a modified "tank season." Tough call for the FO, with the hard cap allowing zero flexibility.
As a BC grad, I thought Ky had a shot but never thought he’d make an impact like this. Love seeing it. He’s getting more run than Jerome Robinson who was a mid first round pick. For BC hoops fans, some Sky Bowman porn ...

I did not know the reference.I think Eddie Stanky would describe the 76ers as all-stars from the nek down
He's a little like Rondo, minus a little athleticism, shotmaking and court vision... but very similar attitudes. Maybe a little more whimsy than Rondo, but pretty close overall.Terry Rozier throws the ball out of bounds after regulation ends in a tie, which means a tech to start OT. I love him so much more now that he plays for another team. He is special.
Miami. We smoked Miami and match up quite well with them.So Philly vs Miami tonight. Who should I root for? It's great to see a division rival like the Sixers lose, but I fear that Miami is a better team and a bigger threat to get home court in the playoffs.
Chriss and Luka got tangled up with Luka grabbing at him. It was kind of mild.Naturally DLo gets hurt (maybe a sprained neck / mild concussion, looked a lot scarier than that for a few minutes) and the Warriors proceed to fall apart. Mavs absolutely raining threes, all-time record in sight. 45-24 Mavs in the third, 22 made through three quarters.
Tempers flared a bit as the game unraveled, with Chriss shoving Luka halfway across the court, and Luka acting like he wanted a piece, lol.
What an incredible player, though — man.
I saw Luka play only a few times and my takeaway is that he is awesome and he disguises dirty/hard play behind a smile.Naturally DLo gets hurt (maybe a sprained neck / mild concussion, looked a lot scarier than that for a few minutes) and the Warriors proceed to fall apart. They said the other night that the Lakers game was the first time the whole Clippers team had played together all season.120-107 Jazz over the Clips in LA. Kawhi and PG combine to go 12-44 from the floor.
Still feel like Clips are the team to beat this season, but man, for a team as stacked as they are, they've lost some head-scratchers (eleven of them, to be precise).
Given that throwing a ball into the stands is legal after the game, and that Rozier was already penalized with a technical, that fine is utterly bizarre.Terry Rozier fined $25k for throwing the game ball into the crowd in a loss to OKC last week.
In the same game, Dennis Schroeder "intentionally" made contact with an official and was fined $25K.
One of these things is not like the other.
It was weird. Terry barely (few rows deep) threw it into stands at the end of regulation when the game was tied. The announcers guessed that Terry lost track of the score and thought the game was over. It didn't seem malicious or he was trying to show up the officials. I thought he was just goofing around after the buzzer sounded, he seemed a little embarrassed afterward.Given that throwing a ball into the stands is legal after the game, and that Rozier was already penalized with a technical, that fine is utterly bizarre.
Siri, show me hypocrisy in one clip.
There's another angle where you can see that Tolliver clips his left leg. Given that LeBron was making a normal running motion (not kicking his leg out), that's a foul and a slightly dangerous play by Tolliver. Good call by the ref in real time.
You must have better eyes than I do. On one camera angle he could have tipped his foot, on another it is clearly not the case. At least of the ones I've seen. There's another angle where you can see that Tolliver clips his left leg. (Yes, it would be nice if Tony Brothers could make these calls.)
