I was thinking exactly that last week. Lots of people say we’re spoiled because a team can’t always be great. But that ain’t it, yeah? It’s what you just said: It’s not just that it’s not as fun as championships, it’s not a terribly fun thing to block a few hours on the weekend for.
Just put all of your assets into offense and at least deliver us a team that loses 38-34 every other week, this is borderline unwatchable.
Why are there so few capable QBs? All the rules are in favor of the offense. College QBs throw the ball a ton these days. Mac’s draft class had 5 first round QBs and only one is worthy of the fifth year option.
seems like o line play is way down since new cba which restricts what they can do in practice
I don’t watch a ton of college ball but I suspect a big part of this disconnect is that college defense is nonexistent outside a few programs.

Mac was 10/11 and the team didn't come close to threatening to score.

It's amazing how big the gap from a top 5 QB is to the 35th best QB in the NFL.
If you go from top 5 RB to the 35th best RB, offenses rarely miss a beat (hence the low RB salaries).
Of course QB the most important position in general, but it does feel odd how so few seem to be able to master it. The drop off outside of the top 15-20 or so guys is crazy steep.
This defense isn't great or anything, but it consistently makes plays to give the offense opportunities even when it's kind of struggling.
