I'm going home
Just a reminder that the Sox wrap up in Oakland this afternoon with first pitch at 3:37 PM EDT. What ever will I do between the hours of 10 PM and 1 AM?

Let's go, Nick!

Speaking of the hours between 10 PM and 1 AM, I believe that this is the only true west coast road trip of the season. Right after the All Star break they open with 3 games at the Dodgers (I believe there is just one 10 PM start) and the Colorado for 3 games which I think are 8:10 or 8:40 start times.

Yep! The Dodgers series is a weekend with currently scheduled 10:10/7:15/4:10 start times, then COL for 8:40/8:40/3:10.

Just 7 games starting at 9:40 or later with 6 of them out of the way as we head into the April 9th home opener. Sign me up for this same exact schedule every year.
I want the Dodgers at home though

100%. I like the earlier starts so I can catch some west coast games afterward if I feel like staying up late. Being forced to be up past midnight to catch the Sox on a weekday gets old.

Two of the Anaheim games start at 9:38 pm which is not a big difference.

Yup, amazingly they have only one more "late night" game (i.e. after 9 pm Eastern start time) remaining this season. And that's on a Friday (7/19 @ LAD) so at least it's not a school night. They have a bunch of Central Time Zone games that will get going at 8:10 pm Eastern, and yes, two of the games in Colorado don't get underway until 8:40. But that's a lot better than 10 pm!

Of course, rainouts, TV rescheduling and so on could cause a few changes. But otherwise you East Coasters are almost completely out of the woods after this road trip.

I listen to the games on the radio and then watch the highlights the next day. Gotta say, I kinda love Oakland's uniforms.

Do they still have the dark green or just the kelly green? They had both last year. Not a big fan of the dark green.

Seems relatively pretty late in the season (Game 7) for the 1st "day baseball today" post.

100%. It's been a slog this week, but it's gonna be great to not have those late-night weeks this season.

where the darn libs live
As an aside, anyone know why there were so many day games across baseball yesterday? The Sox hosted the latest start time, which I don’t remember happening for a weekday game in years.

I think everyone played on Monday because of Jackie Robinson Day, which means lots of series ended yesterday and had getaway games. There are only 5 games today. 2 start a weekend series, 2 end a weekday series. I couldn't tell you why the Rangers/Tigers game was a day game. The Angels/Devil Rays, who play a day game today, had a 6:50 start last night.

There were five games played on Wednesday and three of the visiting teams will be playing in a different city today (one of them ending its road trip).
