Clippers announce $10,000 drawing for fans who arrive 15 minutes before tip-off

But seriously. This is a good move by Ballmer especially as we get close to the holidays.

LA Basketball doesn't wait for fans to be fashionably late. The LA Clippers are challenging Clipper Nation to bring their best defense to upcoming home games. Starting November 13, fans can compete to win $10,000 if they are in their seats before the start of the game. Official Rules.

TAKE ON THE CHALLENGE:

ARRIVE AT LEAST 15 MINUTES BEFORE TIP-OFF.

DEFEND OUR COURT FROM TIP-OFF TO THE FINAL BUZZER.

WEAR CLIPPERS COLORS OR GEAR TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT.

And unlike other contests (like trying to sink a half court shot) this won’t cause you to become a meme if you mess up during the contest. Just show up early in clippers gear and you have a chance at the money.

This is such a an odd spot for me as a fan. I've never had a rooting interest in the clippers, etc. But I do absolutely love Balmer.

Yah. And like I have told people here and elsewhere Ballmer is like the a stereotype of how one of us would run of favorite sports team if we had as much money has he did and just bought our favorite team. . Like some owners see owning a team as a Business. Ballmer sees it as More than just that. And IMO that’s rare for an owner of a sports team.
Also. He seems to be as crazy/full of energy as he was when he introduced windows in 1985

It would be tough for me to don Clippers color when they played the Celtics, but I would do it! I'd probably try and find one of these for cheap.

Feels like more teams should do this, although it'd be a battle of concession revenue vs jazzed up crowds at tipoff. Unless its the playoffs, most games at tipoff just feel sad.

I went to the Clippers game last night. This didn't seem to help much.
