Coverage here in the UK is interesting in so much as it will be driving Jose Mourinho nuts. Earlier last season he commented about the number of ex-Liverpool players in the media and how many of them there are compared to Chelsea.

Tonight?

Gerrard in the ITV studio and Xavi Alonso on Sky. Suck it up, Jose (though he's probably in Portugal anyway)

My heart wants Atletico, my head says 2-0 Real.

But his hair looks good.

Love the physicality on CR so far. If they can make him hear footsteps it could buy them a half a step on him.

Atletico is covering the inside move by Bale and forcing him out; bookending Ronaldo too. It's nice to see a good, well organized, defense.

My new favorite hobby is picturing Gus reading directly off Wikipedia as he calls the game

Athletico should keep going at them. Ramos is on a yellow and the backline as a whole has been exposed. Courtois hasn't been challenged all match.

Atletico seems to have sent midfielders forward to support the attack, leaving them vulnerable to counter. I can see the midfield staying back, even on breakaways.

Maybe I'm spoiled by NBC, I think they did a great job. Fox is a mess , Gus is really the least of their problems.

I think Madrid have to sub Khedira off for someone who can help them possess better through the midfield.  Is Isco on the bench?

Yes.

He's been on the bench for most of the season. Not even on the Spanish National Team this WC.

Yeah, that was such a lousy move for him.  He'd have played a ton at City this year and instead he went to rot on Real's bench because his dad wanted some crazy money

Nonetheless, he'll come deeper and dribble by some of these pressers, which is what Real need to get their attack forward.  Someone needs to run with the ball centrally

They are "going for it" huh? I mean, what choice do they have, it's not like there's a second leg.

Real are posessing the ball better and getting forward now, just a question of whether they can find the goal before time runs out or Atletico catches them on the counter.  They've looked better in the last 10 minutes than they have all match,w hci was always likely to happen with the way Atletico are pressing.

DiMaria is fantastic. If Messi plays like he's capable, Argentina will be a force next month.
