Or Simmons can't write well. It definitely seems like a rip on a b level celebrity.Cellar-Door said:He wrote about it in his column today, basically he was saying "How come they don't show Modine he's awesome" not knowing Modine has missed all the games.
Modine thought Simmons was saying he wasn't cool/famous enough to be shown and ripped him.
The moral..... actors can't read very well.
Yup, and knowing how thin-skinned he can be, it's downright delightful to watch him twist after being publicly dissed by Matthew fucking Modine.dirtynine said:Loved the exchange. And generally any time Simmons is reminded he's not insulated by the internet.
Well whatever it was they seem to have kissed and made up:Cellar-Door said:

Give him a few more weeks and he may even delve into Arrested Development and The Big Lebowski.

I didn't- I bailed since I'm not a GOT fan, but that is hilarious.Shelterdog said:If you made it far enough in this week's podcast he did ask Greenwald what year Game of Thrones takes place--because he thought Game of Thrones took place on earth.

Especially since he's a 'it's on cable all the time!' guys. The Matrix has been on cable TV 24 hours a day since about 2000, it's almost impossible to not see it.cromulence said:I noticed that too and meant to bring it up here. I can't even....how is that possible? Forget about the sequels, how the fuck did you live from 1999-2013 without seeing The Matrix?

Shelterdog said:He really dislikes sci-fi and fantasy--that's for nerds and Bill Simmons, WWF fan in college and baseball card collector into his 40s, is definitely not a nerd.

The Matrix was the DVD everyone bought to test out their home theater system.cromulence said:(H) the fuck did you live from 1999-2013 without seeing The Matrix?
16. "The Matrix"
I wasn't an enormous fan of this movie -- too much Keanu, and it gave me a headache -- but the DVD contains a crapload of cool stuff. Apparently this is the best-selling DVD of all-time. Go figure.
And that was in 2001. I don't know anyone who had seen that movie before 2003 or so. I rented it from blockbuster on VHS in 2000 or so on a whim.drleather2001 said:I love that "Rounders" is a "Classic".

cromulence said:Funny you say that - I remember going to a friend's house in the early 2000's so they could show off their new home theater system. We watched.....The Matrix.
