Lack of lights delay for Nats Mets @ DC
lots of empty seats
not what Apple wanted for their first game

Less encouraged by the combined 0-8 with 4 Ks for Kelenic and JulioReally good start by Robbie Ray. That was a good pick up for Seattle.
Not so much second time thru the order..Hard to be much better than Jon Gray was first time thru the Toronto batting order. 3 IP, 3 K, 1 H, 44 p- 30 strikes.
Yeah, just came to post about this. They spotted them 7 runs and they have the ability to quickly make deficits disappear.Welp I'm petrified, Toronto erases 7 run deficit in 13 batters
First thing that came to mind is how he got the cotton candy to stay on his head.I'm sorry, can we talk about Lindor's hair? When did this happen? Fuckin yikes.
Yeah, I’m struggling to see the Sox plethora of lefties in the pen are going to be utilized against the mostly RH Blue Jay lineup. Get well soon, Barnsey.Yeah, just came to post about this. They spotted them 7 runs and they have the ability to quickly make deficits disappear.
It’s going to be a major problem.
I'm usually pretty cynical about announcers and game presentations but I didn't find the Mets/Nats broadcast all that bad. Chris Young was good; he obviously loves the game, gave good insight, and had a good sense of humor. Newman on play-by-play was perfectly cromulent. She knew what she was talking about and did a good job presenting the game. The third person that they chatted with for their "tangents" didn't add much at all. While they could stand to rein in the tangents I didn't find those overbearing. I also wasn't hanging on every word nor do I care for the Mets or Nats, so maybe if they were doing a Sox games my feelings would be different. I'd certainly take what I heard last night over any booth with Matt Vasgergian or A-Rod in it, that's for sure.I can't deal with these announcers on the AppleTV game - literally non-stop talking, and barely talking about the game at all. I like some of the live probability stuff (although I question how accurate it is), but they really need to improve the announcing team because it's pretty much unlistenable right now.
Following up:Not so much second time thru the order..
That makes a ton of sense. Righties weren't close to touching him the way he was spotting the slider away with the fastball tailing in on the hands thru the first three frames
yea I completely understand why, it’s just weird to see. No-hitters are funScrew the analytics, they're coming off a shortened spring training. Don't break them on the first trip out.
Just came here to post similar as Vladdy Jr. just crushes his 1st HR of the season. Springer and Chapman homered in the first, Danny Jansen in the second and it's only the third inning. Man are they stacked!!!The Blue Jays feel so much like the mid-90s Indians with the explosive young lineup and better pitching than they get credit for. They're a lot of fun to watch, even on days like today when you know it's over as soon as it starts.
I saw someone predict him for AL batting champ before Opening Day, off to a good start.I fully expect regression to hit like a knee to the groin, but Steven Kwan has started his career 7-for-9 with 3 walks.
5-for-5 today and hit by a pitch. He's reached base 12 times in 14 plate appearances, and just came up a few feet short of his first home run.I fully expect regression to hit like a knee to the groin, but Steven Kwan has started his career 7-for-9 with 3 walks.
He averaged 99.7 mph on his fastball, hit 100+ 20 times over five innings. Made some mistakes in the fifth but he's incredibly exciting.Hunter Greene is having an absolutely phenomenal MLB debut against the Braves lineup today. Fastball sitting at 100mph with ease and locating his pitches pretty well too. This kid's starts are going to be must-watch for me.
Agreed, it's great. Looks like a couple more are coming too. The Pirates are calling up Roansy Contreras (still burying Oneil Cruz though) and the Rays just called up Tommy Romero. He averaged 99.7 mph on his fastball, hit 100+ 20 times over five innings. Made some mistakes in the fifth but he's incredibly exciting.
It's cool seeing the prospects start the season with the big club instead of coming up in May or later. It gets the season off to an exciting start.
I really, really wanted him for the Sox. He’s shown a very good eye at the plate so far.Seiya Suzuki crushed a meatball for his first homer.
He was exactly the played the Sox needed. Not signing him is my first disappointment with Bloom.I really, really wanted him for the Sox. He’s shown a very good eye at the plate so far.
