Can't be though, right? He's entitled to stand on the bag.Joe saying runner interfered with throw at second.
I agree. He just stoop up.Can't be though, right? He's entitled to stand on the bag.
Awful he wasn't running on that 3-2 pitch. But it all worked out.Awful send. Thank god Sanchez sucks
Yeah, that was a weak ass, shitty throw.Nice lob from Judge, too
Yeah if he throws that to a cutoff man toward home then I think Altuve doesn't get sent.Nice lob from Judge, too
Judge sucks too though. Judge didn't make a play on that HR the kid got his glove on and then threw lazily to second on the game's ultimate play.Sanchez will be a fine DH in the future
He looked like he wanted to punch someone.Hahaha, fuck you, Chapman!
He usually waits until he gets homeHe looked like he wanted to punch someone.
Well done.He usually waits until he gets home
It will be fun to watch the 3 amigos..... of strikeouts for a full season.Judge looked lackadaisical and Sanchez sucks. Love it
I was always taught not to throw to second in a tie or one-run game late.Nobody but Altuve and the 3B coach expected him to go. Getting the ball back to 2B for Judge is the normal play there. But Altuve had other ideas.
I thought Judge played that right. Got to the gapper and made a quick off balance throw. The throw home and stone fingers messed that up.Nobody but Altuve and the 3B coach expected him to go. Getting the ball back to 2B for Judge is the normal play there. But Altuve had other ideas.
Sitting with a rabid Astros fan co-worker -- who screamed "Run, you little bastard, run" -- I think I disagree with your premise. In those circumstances, the Yankees should have played it thinking Altuve would go on anything in a gap.Nobody but Altuve and the 3B coach expected him to go. Getting the ball back to 2B for Judge is the normal play there. But Altuve had other ideas.
That, tooI was always taught not to throw to second in a tie or one-run game late.
MOST catchers make that play. Throw was good.Elston Howard makes that play.
I don't think it matters if the fielder is the protected fielder. The protected fielder always has the right of way, even on the base (subject to the particular new double play break up rules). But here the only fielder entitled to protection was Judge -- the player fielding the ball as batted. For other fielders, you can call interference only if you determine that the runner intentionally interfered with a throw or act of fielding and there is no right of way obligation by the runner. The fact that he's on the base doesn't give him immunity, but I think what you say is basically right -- making a natural move at a base where you're susceptible to beIng tagged out, like a pop up slide, makes it really hard for the ump to think you acted intentionally to hinder unless you make some non-natural move into the fielder. Can't be though, right? He's entitled to stand on the bag.
Me too.Lost in all that is that I'm shocked Altuve wasn't running on the 3-2 pitch
Feeling better now? It's not like I'm surprised here. I said they would shit their pants in this series and that the moment would be too big for them, but it's still so frustrating. They have a chance here to take a big lead in the series despite pathetic offense but they are frittering it away.
Oh, this is how they get you. Just wait!Feeling better now?
Excellent point. Chapman gets a lot of K's, but he's easy to get a jump on.Lost in all that is that I'm shocked Altuve wasn't running on the 3-2 pitch
Maybe in years to come he and Sanchez will alternate as DH. (I see now that I am late with this observation. Oh, well.)Judge is not a good fielder.
I'm not going to be celebratory about the outcome of any game until the Yanks are lying on the alter with a stake through their heart at midnight under a full moon.Oh, this is how they get you. Just wait!
Ellsbury and Holliday? I like it!The Yankees eventually will petition MLB to allow them two DHs
The next full moon is in early November. I don't want to wait that long.I'm not going to be celebratory about the outcome of any game until the Yanks are lying on the alter with a stake through their heart at midnight under a full moon.
