Abreu looks like at worst a decent depth OF option or good guy to include as like the 3rd prospect in a trade who won't kill you to let go. They have lots more of these pieces than they've had in the last few years. The depth + motivation to make deals should be a good combo this winter.

It will be interesting to see how much they'll do with just money, which they should have a lot of to spend, & how much they'll do with trades - which they'll need to do because they have too many players.

Worcester won 5-4.

Drohan pitched 5 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits & 4 walks, with 2 strikeouts. Apparently the bulk role doesn't suit him great, either. He did get the win, though.

Justin Garza pitched a 1-2-3 9th with 2 strikeouts for his 1st save.

Abreu was 3-4 with a double, a homer & 3 RBI.

Nick Sogard was 1-3 with a homer & a walk.

Bradley Zimmer was 1-2 with a walk & a steal (#8).

C Note was 1-4 with a double, a steal (#4) & 1 strikeout.

The Blizzard was 0-3 with a walk, but he did get his 43rd steal.

Stephen Scott was 1-4 with a homer.

DSL Red Sox Red won their 7 inning make-up game 12-9.

Yohander Asencio (who I think should be getting some prospect love soon & I maybe will write up later) was 2-4 with a double & a walk.

Jose Liriano was 2-3 with a double & a walk.

Nathanael German was 2-4 with a walk.

Cristofer Soriano pitched a 1-2-3 9th with a strikeout to become the only one of their 5 pitchers not to allow a run, lowered his ERA to 2.82 & recorded his 3rd save.

The interesting/tricky thing is whether or not all the top free agents will sit around and wait for the Ohtani sweepstakes to play out and set the market. I'll be honest I haven't looked at the top FA at all so I have no idea about the class beyond him.

I do think the trades are an absolute must because there is a significant risk of losing value entirely, whether to Rule 5 or guys hitting their natural plateau, etc.

I'm going through the stuff by position in the main forum, but this is the list I'm using for the free agency stuff:
