Dalton Rogers (#32) looked like he was on his way to a decent start, but then he walked 2 in a row & came out & Bolden happened.

Final line:

4.1 innings
4 runs

Not a great start for Elvis Soto either. 3.2 innings, 4 runs, 7 hits, 2 homers, 4 k's. On the bright side, no walks?

Gabriel Jackson (#113) came in & got the last out of the inning, stranding 1 runner.

Hunter Dobbins (#20) has been struggling lately & allowed a run in the 1st inning today, but then really settled down.

I assume he's done after 7 innings & 91 pitches (68 strikes). If so he allowed just that 1 run on 5 hits, 0 walks & 8 strikeouts.

As a GabeJax stan I feel like I would move him up the rankings. Not sure why they have him such a short outting as he was just recently in the rotation, but he got out all 4 hitters he faced including 2 strikeouts.

Connor Butler (#148) is in for his A-ball debut.

& then another homer to the 2nd batter.
Caleb Bolden (#83) really settled down after the awful start.

2.2 innings, just the 2 runs, 5 hits, 0 walks, 1 wp, 3 strikeouts.

Assuming he's done for the day because he's been a 1 or 2 inning reliever all year (I think) & has thrown 44 pitches, but I guess we shall see.

Have not been happy when they've brought in Webb lately.

1st 4 hitters:

That was all for Webb. They brought in Theo Denlinger (#87) who has also been a bad time lately & he immediately allowed a 2-run single.

Alexis Hernandez just walked, stole 2nd, tried to get to 3rd & got called out...& then became the 3rd Salem person to get kicked out of the game.

After Butler's stellar debut, Garrett Ramsey (#169) will make his.
Ramsey's debut was not as effective. Hbp & 2 singles for a run, extending Salem's deficit to 5-3.

C Note double.

He is now 1-3 with a double, a walk, a lineout & a "sharply hit fly ball".
The "sharply hit fly ball" had an EV of 100.9 and LA of 34^, traveling 357 feet.
I have a real problem with the MLB Gamecast and MiLB Gamecast classifying pop-ups as sharply hit, but the apps don't differentiate by launch angle, so if it comes off the bat at >100 mph it's sharply hit, even with a launch angle of 60^.
Back to this batted ball, looks like CR just missed it. A couple mph more or a few degrees less and it travels 380-390 ft.
