And NY just had a small-ish earthquake to mark the occasion.

That was a bad steal quadfecta by Volpe:
  • Fastball count
  • Slid to the middle of the bag
  • Jammed his left hand slowing him down
  • Helmet fell over his face so he couldn't see anything

Not watching anything but the box score, but damn, I hope this isn't more day baseball bullshit with these bats.

I feel like this exact kind of pitcher has plagued both the Sox and Yankees for a long time.

Dominguez should be ready by June 1 so Stanton probably has until around then.
Yeah, easy decision once Jasson is back. Today has been one of the more listless performances from the Yankees I can remember.

Soto and Volpe and Cabrera have masked the fact that the rest of the lineup has been almost entirely dead all season so far. Now Soto is cold too, one hit in his last four games.

Umpires just have no ability to identify the outside part of the plate, probably because there is a whole ass human blocking their view. Such a dumb system.

Yup. He and Judge are going to get walked a ton until Rizzo/Stanton prove that they can be productive. I’d be tempted to bat Volpe cleanup right now just to have someone putting up good ABs behind those guys.

Bohoken
I got woke up this morning by a EARTHQUAKE in Hoboken NJ.

Really

The chances of that are about the chance of the Yankes getting shut out at a home opener for the first time in
66 years.

Wish I had the parlay.

And yet they are 6-2. When two thirds of the lineup isn't hitting and you still won 75% of your games, that's impressive.

NY has scored in just 1 of their last 33 innings (not counting extra innings with the Manfred Man already on 2nd).
