Got to win this one, the difference between a successful homestand (5-2) and a meh one (4-3).

Fucking Gleyber gets picked off. And of course Trevino hits a HR right after.
I used to do that intentionally sometimes in slow pitch co-ed softball, but I would usually force a bad throw eventually. He kept the rundown going for a while, but we have already won a game this year because of Gleyber's, um, unique style of baserunning so you have to expect to give some back with him sometimes too.

Also I am really not going to miss that guy, sounds like Berti will be back at least next week. He looked bad when he was active too though.

Wow, I just looked it up and W/L record with the two catchers so far is shocking!! Since Cole is on the IL and the five guys starting are roughly about as good as each other and NY has been basically alternating days, it is about as even as these things ever get. Only 25 games but shocking, W/:L record with each starting at catcher coming into tonight:

Wells: 11-2
Trevino: 6-6

Wells hasn't hit almost at all yet either, interesting. He had a perfect bunt down the third base line to start a rally the other night.

I still can't believe Jeff Nelson was basically saying last night that if today's SPs just tried harder, they could pitch effectively more than two times through a lineup. Dude, that is 18 batters! How many batters did you ever face in one game? He didn't just say it once, he was really stuck on it.
