I feel like me & Iakavos from SoxProspects are in a competition to see who can come up with the worst punny game thread titles...

4/16
Me: 4/16/24 - Sandman v. The Lover of Epstein?
SP: 4/16 Gameday Thread: Enter the Sandlin & The Wicker Man

4/17
Me: 4/17/2024 - Wehunt in the morning, throw Fitts in the afternoon, & Coffey in the evening
SP: 4/17 Gameday Thread: Wehunt In The Morning & Afternoon Fitts

4/18
Me: 4/18/2024 - Sox Super Hero Day: PENGOD, The Gamblor, The Peralyzer & Duffman
SP: 4/18 Gameday Thread: One If Penrod, Two If Perales (Three if Both)

I feel like SP probably had the better one on 4/16, I'm claiming the victory on 4/17, & we both lose today.

Disappointing news to find out at the park. Looking forward to my first look at Anthony and Teel though.
Teel DHing instead of catching would also be a bit disappointing, but PENROD should be fun.

Plus CF Roman & 3B Blaze. & Paulino & Yorke.

Yorke walked in the 4th...& immediately was caught stealing. Wtf.

The Fisher Cats catcher who keeps doing this is Andres Sosa. Who was 0-6 this season coming into the game, & threw out 18% last year in A+...

PENGOD pitched a 1-2-3 5th with 2 more strikeouts. He's at 70 pitches through 5, so probably one more inning.

Was just curious and looked at David Sandlin - his early returns haven't been very impressive. How's he looked?

This is a pretty optimistic take, but apparently he's still looking good.

David Sandlin has been pitching a lot better than his lines have indicated. I'm still as high on him as I was in the offseason The delivery and power mechanics are great. The stuff is great. And he's the best pitcher on the planet after giving up a homer. Here's a bit of his outing from yesterday:

& this one was from his 1st start:

Cooper Adams got the spot start for Perales who is hopefully OK, but I haven't heard anything. Adams was great in his 1st couple outings, but struggled in his 1st start.

Of course, 3 errors didn't help. 2 catcher's interference on Ronald Rosario & a dropped catch by Cutter Coffey.

3.2 IP
5 runs
3 ER
4 hits
2 bb
2 hbp
3 k

80 pitches didn't get him through 4 innings. His ERA is still 2.53 on the season.

He was replaced by Jonathan Brand who I assume set his org high in pitches with 68... but only made it through 2.2 innings. He allowed 1 unearned run on 5 hits, 2 walks & struck out 5. So much for the amazing WHIP, but 10 innings without an ER is pretty good. With 15 k's & an 0.90 WHIP.

...& then they were out of pitchers. Drew Ehrhard had played 1 game all season & homered, so I guess they figured he was rested for emergency pitcher duties.

1.2 scoreless innings, allowing 2 hits, 0 bb, 0 k. Unlike the 1st 2 guys, he was very efficient, getting 5 outs in 15 pitches, 12 strikes.

Don't see any of his pitching highlights but...

Salem won 5-4.

Matt Duffy had a 3rd straight meh start. After 2 games where he went 3.1 & allowed 2 ER, this time he stepped up the length of the mid start, going 4.2 innings & allowing 3 ER on 7 hits & 1 bb with 4 k's.

Royman Blanco pitched 2.1 innings & allowed a run on 2 hits & striking out 1. He picked up the win.

Isaac Stebens pitched the last 2 innings, allowing a hit & a walk & striking out 3, lowering his ERA to 0.90 & picking up his 3rd save.

He's only played 3 games and hasn't done anything yet. Sounds like he's still pretty far off in terms of ramping up.

Thanks. Yeah guessing he’s at least 2 weeks away
Yeah, there's also this reporting from Andrew Parker in the injuries thread:

hello I am a media dolt and I truly believe he will be down in Worcester much longer than scheduled based off of my conversation with him today.
I’ll tell you what.. I was very surprised meeting Grissom and talking with him. He’s full of energy and very laid back. Not really sure what I was expecting but I liked his energy
