Oh yeah, I think we may actually be strong contenders in the Ohtani sweepstakes (especially since Bloom and the FO have, ah, practiced some financial restraint going into this season) and we'd be a pretty logical fit from an on-field perspective. The idea of a decade of building teams around Ohtani and Devers is pretty exciting. Not letting myself get too invested in the possibility, obviously, but I'd expect us to at least be in the mix to land him.We could basically give him Sale’s money plus JDM’s, and net a roster spot.
I think he's fine in his role as pre and post game host. I much prefer Jahmai as the in game reporter and please, even once a year in the booth is 10 times too many.Tom Caron has a podcast? I will never understand how this guy has a job for life with NESN.
I like Jahmai, but he's no Gary Striewski...who I saw yesterday hosting SportsCenter?! The Red Sox sideline reporter gig has a pretty good track record for future success.I think he's fine in his role as pre and post game host. I'm not a fan of the in game interview (most guests in the booth being an exception), but I think Jahmai does a decent interview and does a nice job with the "My Story" series.I like Jahmai, but he's no Gary Striewski...who I saw yesterday hosting SportsCenter?! From all accounts, a really nice guy. From all accounts, a horrible voice and delivery.Tom Caron has a podcast? I will never understand how this guy has a job for life with NESN.
For sure; Heidi Watney and Jenny Dell have done very well.I'm not a fan of the in game interview (most guests in the booth being an exception), but I think Jahmai does a decent interview and does a nice job with the "My Story" series.
Seems simple to me. He must work cheap and never had aspirations to go on to bigger/better gigs.Tom Caron has a podcast? I will never understand how this guy has a job for life with NESN.
Yeah that non call made me really angry. That was a gorgeous pitch
I'm sure he'll have to contend with terrible defense behind him too.Strike 3 not called, HBP, homer. The same kind of shit Bello dealt with last year.
The homer was on a pitch well inside.Ump missed strike 3, but Bello definitely has to bear down and keep throwing strikes. The HBP and the homer were really awful pitches
Remarkable and unsurprising is an unusual combinationDuran already costing the team a run in center is remarkable.
A bit of all of the above, I'd guess.Have to imagine the weather and the delay are a factor here, Bello doesn't seem to have any feel for the slider and keeps leaving the sinker up. That or he's overamped.
Well, sure, but I don't think replacing umpires with Killbots is really the solution to our pitching problems. The inning is likely scoreless if the ump is a robot
It might be hard to pitch on a cool, wet morning.Maybe Ohtani will suck too
