Vancouver is going to be sooooo jealous. The Four Peters said:Bad habits the Bruins are getting into:

This is fair. The presidents trophy means jack. However one can't complain about the performance in meaningless regular season games when referring to the best regular season team in the league.LogansDad said:Vancouver is going to be sooooo jealous.
let Spooner take one, see what he's gotcshea said:Miller, Campbell, Boychuk. Have some fun.
You do remember they were probably a healthy Bergeron away from forcing a Game 7, right?BoSoxFink said:1. Yes they have up 1 goal, mostly because Johnson stood on his head for once.
2. Fine I'll give you this
3. Yes road points are good, but when you have a lead late in the game you need to hold on.
4. I'm fine with the Bruins losing these games, I would rather they lose though without continually blowing leads in the last 5 minutes of hockey games. It's like nobody remembers last year and their struggles holding leads and it finally costing them.
5. Yes they should win this, and they earned it, but it means shit once they get in the playoffs
I guarantee you that no matter what happens in the playoffs, this game will have zero effect on their performance. 0.0, Mr. Blutarsky.BoSoxFink said:1. Yes they gave up 1 goal, mostly because Johnson stood on his head for once.

Just to clarify, my comment was a knock on Vancouver, not on the Bruins or your post. The Four Peters said:This is fair. The presidents trophy means jack. Yep, last year sucked.BoSoxFink said:4. I'm fine with the Bruins losing these games, I would rather they lose though without continually blowing leads in the last 5 minutes of hockey games. It's like nobody remembers last year and their struggles holding leads and it finally costing them.
i don't think you can say that if Bergeron was healthy they don't blow that lead in the game, I guess it's possible but you can't say they hang on just because they have a healthy BergyMiracleOfO2704 said:You do remember they were probably a healthy Bergeron away from forcing a Game 7, right?
Oh I know, was just expanding on it because it is legitimate.LogansDad said:Just to clarify, my comment was a knock on Vancouver, not on the Bruins or your post.
Shhh, clearly this team should always win the Stanley Cup, regardless of the other teams competing for it.The Four Peters said:Yep, last year sucked.
Why doesn't Clode play young players?Smiling Joe Hesketh said:Spooner getting a shot, LOL
the ending sure did. That was gut wrenching losing it that wayThe Four Peters said:Yep, last year sucked.
They hang on 8-9 out of 10 times regardless of Bergeron's status. That game took a couple of fortuitous bounces for The 'Hawks to win it.BoSoxFink said:i don't think you can say that if Bergeron was healthy they don't blow that lead are in the game, I guess it's possible but you can't say they hang on just because they have a healthy Bergy

Hyperbole is fun. NJ is historically and epically bad at the shoutout. The Bruins have won just under 50% of their shoot outs this year.FelixMantilla said:Another pathetic shootout performance.
If we had one against New Jersey it might last all night long.
Yawn. Facts are tired.MiracleOfO2704 said:
So, that really had an effect on this year's team.
Also, Jaffe mentioned the whole "giving up goals in the last minute of a period" thing. He said the Bruins have done it 16 times, which was "middle of the pack." The Islanders had the most with 25.
this is fair, but as I stated earlier it's more a concern lately than it was earlier in the year.MiracleOfO2704 said:

Chad Johnson who is 17-3-3, with a 2.12 GAA and a .923 save percentage, and has given up less than two goals in 14 of his 22 starts?BoSoxFink said:1. Yes they gave up 1 goal, mostly because Johnson stood on his head for once.
I don't think much of Johnson, but he's been more than fine as the backup this year. I don't think you would say many nights this year that he carried the team and stood on his head. Tonight was definitely one of those nights though.AMcGhie said:Chad Johnson who is 17-3-3, with a 2.12 GAA and a .923 save percentage, and has given up less than two goals in 14 of his 22 starts?
Admittedly, not against the toughest of opponents, but seriously, he's doing amazing.
I'm not being clever. Seriously this hand wringing is fucking idiotic. This is barely even their real team and they're STILL getting points. You have no context about how other teams around the league are playing. I'd say 28 out of the 29 teams in the nhl would trade places with the Bruins today no questions asked, maybe even 29.BoSoxFink said:you are so damn clever, I don't know how you do it
Three if you count Tuukka.AMcGhie said:I'm snarky because these games aren't really that meaningful. 2 left, and I wont care if the B's lose 12-0 in each game as long as everyone is healthy and rested headed into the playoffs. This team has played so well during the season (and their streak) that they've earned the rest. Losing 2-1 in a SO when you're not playing your TWO best defensive players is not something to worry about, at all.
He has been so far above fine it's not even a question. Your backup goalie should never be expected to carry you and the fact that he did it once is way above expectations. He's been 800x better than I expected this year.BoSoxFink said:I don't think much of Johnson, but he's been more than fine as the backup this year. i never said I would trade spots with any other team in the league, this is the team I want to be rooting for if I'm a fan of any team. I'm just seeing a couple things about their games that are a little concerning of late, I don't get why that isn't a legit worry. Julien himself just said he doesn't want some of the bad habits that he's seeing creep into their games going forward. I don't get why you or anyone think I'm off base. The Four Peters said:I'm not being clever. Seriously this hand wringing is fucking idiotic. This shit is tired. This team is amazing. Enjoy it. These are the good times. They might lose in the playoffs because that shit happens but good lord people sound spoiled right now.

He has beat out any expectations I had for him too. I know his numbers are great and like I said he's been good as the backup this year, but I still question how good or not good he is. I think the Bruins defensive style can make most goalies in the league right now look pretty damn good. The Four Peters said:He has been so far above fine it's not even a question. Hell, after that injury they rattled off a historic point streak. I mean they can't even use that injury as an excuse!MiracleOfO2704 said:

Clearly, Chiarelli didn't properly account for catastrophic injuries, a tell-tale sign of a failing GM.
Theres been sloppiness on their end and sometimes a little bit of lacsidaisical play. I think once the games matter again those can be resolved.Dummy Hoy said:Can you specify what the bad habits you're seeing are?
