Denver did not have a three point game going last night however they got what they wanted from inside the arc and were fantastic at 77% from two.If you wanted to do a SSS takeaway from the last two games, its that beyond Jokic's brilliance, the Nuggets size overall is a problem for Boston.
Both KP and Horford were outmuscled by Gordon and Watson was a problem for them too. Denver wants Tillman minutes - for as good as he is on D and passing-wise - because the Cs lose ground on the offensive end. They can (must)clean up the back cuts but not really sure how to deal with the length/athletic mismatches Denver has for them.
The Nuggets are a problem like Boston in that if you take away something they have a lot of other very good options.
They are also very closely matched.
I am curious about how you think the Celtics should counter the Nuggets size. Do they need to keep two bigs on the floor more frequently? Play more zone? Go small and try to push pace? Something else?
I like the way these two teams match up and I would love to see them play a seven game series from a strategy perspective however the stress from late night close games would probably age me in dog years.
