According to this Boston.com story, Devers may be in the lineup today. The article has optimistic quotes from Devers and Cora, so good news there. Still, Devers' comments are a bit eyebrow-raising:

While the Red Sox were optimistic that it’s a very short-term injury for Devers, it has been a lingering issue for the third baseman. Devers shared that he’s been dealing with shoulder soreness since spring training, saying “the pain wasn’t that big” at first but felt he had to his pause on Friday.

“It started in Fort Myers,” Devers said. “I think it was getting worse and worse and yesterday I felt it a little bit. And today at batting practice I felt it a little bit more. And I wanted just to be smart and I stopped.

“I was able to handle it and play with it,” Devers added. “But playing with that pain, it was getting worse and worse and worse until the point that I decided to stop.”

Last night being a 9:40 EDT start was understandable. It's a Friday. Typically Friday games are at night. There's no excuse for night games on a fucking Saturday.

I really don’t like Story that high against a RH, but I guess given the rest of the lineup there aren’t any great options.

get well soon, Raffy.

Duran links his index and pinky fingers on the bat. I've never noticed anyone doing that before. He's total opposite of Ty Cobb.

First three Mariners SPs are pretty cruel too, although we got to Castillo.
Bryce Miller, who I think should be starting tomorrow, could be a top of the rotation guy for about half the teams in the league, too, I think. Just a mean trip to start the season for this offense.
