Even if they are tied on points the B's have the edge because of ROW wins. Ottawa outside of this insane streak has not been good this season. How long can this run last.BoSoxFink said:Ottawa is essentially tied with the Bruins
The Bruins are the team that controls their own destiny, not Ottawa. Even if Ottawa wins the game in hand.BoSoxFink said:with the way they're playing hockey, yes they are
They also played shit hockey for more than a quarter of a season so your logic is quite dumb.BoSoxFink said:With the way Ottawa is playing it's well deserved. Can't really say anything but wow. They've been playing ridiculous hockey now for nearly a quarter of the season. They deserve the last spot.

they're playing better hockey than anyone when it matters most. If the Bruins were playing like that now we'd all be praising them too. Ottawa has turned it on when it really matters.kenneycb said:They also played shit hockey for more than a quarter of a season so your logic is quite dumb.
So points won at the end of the season are worth more than points won at the beginning of the season? Gotcha.BoSoxFink said:they're playing better hockey than anyone when it matters most. Obvioisly it's not over yet, but from where they were 2 months ago, this is an epic comeback. Gotta give them credit.
would you rather your team play great in October-December or January to March heading towards the playoffs? If they do get in, they will be hot as hell and very dangerous, as long as they don't let up.kenneycb said:So points won at the end of the season are worth more than points won at the beginning of the season? Obviously the latter but I'm contesting your notion that they deserve anything for getting hot at the end of the season. They don't deserve shit.BoSoxFink said:would you rather your team play great in October-December or January to February heading towards the playoffs? if the Bruins were in Ottawa's shoes and went 15-2-2 in their last 19 you wouldn't be in here saying "wow this team deserves a lot of credit for the hockey they're playing and being on the brink of getting into the playoffs?" We would all be praising them left and right.kenneycb said:Obviously the latter but I'm contesting your notion that they deserve anything for getting hot at the end of the season. When its all said and done this holds true, but when games going forward are being played NOW would you bet on the team thats hot NOW or the one thats not, all other things being equal?kenneycb said:Obviously the latter but I'm contesting your notion that they deserve anything for getting hot at the end of the season. No one isn't giving them credit, but come on they are on an insane run with a goalie who is playing far above his actual skill level.BoSoxFink said:they're playing better hockey than anyone when it matters most. Which is different than you saying they deserve the last spot.BoSoxFink said:if the Bruins went 15-2-2 in their last 19 you wouldn't be in here saying "wow this team deserves a lot of credit for the hockey they're playing and being on the brink of getting into the playoffs?" I'm not arguing any of that. Stripes said "They deserve the last spot." Which is bullshit.timlinin8th said:When its all said and done this holds true, but when games going forward are being played NOW would you bet on the team thats hot NOW or the one thats not, all other things being equal?
Who cares? This doesn't matter. Let's take our anger out on those who deserve it, like the Bruinskenneycb said:I'm not arguing any of that. Stripes said "They deserve the last spot." Which is bullshit.
Again, we would all probably say the Bruins deserve the last spot if they were playing like that, I've seen that before too. You're just being stubborn.kenneycb said:Which is different than you saying they deserve the last spot.
I don't want to speak for anybody else but, no, I wouldn't. I understand that a season is 82 games and typically the teams that deserve playoff spots get them.BoSoxFink said:Again, we would all probably say the Bruins deserve the last spot if they were playing like that, I've seen that before too. It doesn't matter anyways, earning my or any ones thoughts that they deserve it doesn't mean shit anyways.
He deserves dysentery.cshea said:Apparently Curtis Lazar ate one of the burgers a fan threw on the ice after the game. I suspect that'll be a decision he'll regret.
Barcelona for work actually, so there's another derby I'd have killed to see this weekend.MiracleOfO2704 said:If you're going to the match this weekend, I may murder you, skin you, and wear you like a warm, furry Iranian suit.
In the fresh light of day I'm a bit less disgusted with Smith. Yes, the turnover was absolutely atrocious and I have no problem with his getting benched because of it, but the real problem was that he was back there pretending to be a d-man on that play because Claude's using him at the point on the power play. Smith has no business trying to dig out pucks in his own defensive corner with a forward in his face, it's simply not something he has any training to do. He shouldn't be at the point on the PP, and that's on Claude.Titoschew said:I just saw the Smith turnover for the first time. Unbelievable. 2 more years!
