I didn't realize until recently that the Phillies now use "Dancing On My Own" as their rally song (and have since last year)? I assume Schwarber brought it over. Still seems like a weird choice to me, just like it did when the Red Sox did it!

Trying to figure out why the Phillies and Brewers times aren’t switched (especially since AZ (MT) is playing MKE and Miami (ET) is playing PHI
8 local is kind of late for a weekday WC game but whatever

It's the sport that has long been the worst served by the TV coverage of its postseason though, John Smoltz, Harold Reynolds, late era Tim McCarver, etc. This wasn't true way back in the day and watching playoff baseball on TV was indeed peak sports awesome, now it's often awesome with a constant undercurrent of irritation at its presentation, heh. Especially if it's the team you've followed all year, it is really frustrating how uninformed and often flat-out wrong the announcers generally are (David Cone current major exception, he is consistently fantastic, also I really like Ryan Rowland-Smith for SEA games).

Anyway my dream is three man booths of a play by play guy and one color guy from each of the two teams playing, so much more informed and also maybe good arguments sometimes, multiple informed perspectives, maybe even a little trash-talking. :)

But yes my DVR is set for four games a day, I think I am rooting for ATL over BAL, sub-90 win teams shouldn't be playoff eligible IMO (and conversely all 90 win teams should get in, a cut line like in golf) which leaves very few options this year.

That's kind of the way it used to be done back in the 70s. NBC would pair Curt Gowdy or Joe Garagiola with a home team announcer from whatever team was hosting that game. I'd be for it but for the fact that I cannot STAND any of the Rays announcers. But since I always root for them to suffer as quick a (playoff) death as possible and often listen to games with the sound off, it wouldn't matter even if the cursed Rays made a deep run.

A straight line number like 90 seems arbitrary to me

Apparently the get in price for a secondary market Twins ticket for today's game is under $20 (including fees)

Not sure if this is a factor but it’s surprisingly hot there today and they don’t have a roof

This game has gone to hell in a handbasket. I expected poor play from some of the subs, but not the regular Rays. Four errors by TB, four runs for TX so far.

Just acquainting myself with the kid Royce Lewis:The Twins' rookie sensation went on the injured list Sept. 20. Lewis is batting .309 with 15 home runs and 52 RBIs in just 58 games after also missing the beginning of the season while recovering from knee surgery and then sitting out with a strained oblique.
