While that's extremely important for the legacy of those involved, I'm not sure how much it matters to their current situation 3 years later, when their 2nd best player from that title team plays for the Celtics and their 3rd best player is a shell of who he was in 2021. Is the title in 2021 more relevant than the fact that they've won 1 playoff series since (compared to 5 each for Boston and Miami)? Reasonable minds can disagree.

I'm a little late here but it's just that no one cares anymore. The team was publicly deflated by getting gutted at the trade deadline two years in a row despite playing decently up until that point both seasons, and as a result they are losing basically every game now. There was a report that the locker room is surprisingly upbeat (the good news) but it's because they don't care about winning or losing anymore (the bad news). Danny has one more offseason to make this work or it's going to get ugly. They are losing a fanbase that has been unerringly supportive.

Phoenix has been a bit disappointing but they’d be 5th seed in the East with their current record. The West is an absolute gauntlet right now.
We'll see where they end up. They've got by far the hardest schedule left, and even if it's softened by teams resting their stars (like OKC did tonight), it's no guarantee that they'll win. 10-9 since the ASB, and that's with their big 3 being reasonably healthy. They've been weirdly solid against the Nuggets (2 of their post ASB wins were @ Denver), but playoff status currently gives them just a 59% chance of making the playoffs, which sounds about right.
Tbh, the magic number vs Denver is all that concerns me. Going on the road to Minny or OKC doesn't feel like nearly as big a deal. (I know #1 overall is very very likely, just sayin)
Yeah, I don’t view them as more than early round fodder. One of those teams where the whole is less than the sum of the parts.
The last 15 games has been crazy. He flipped a switch. He's better in every facet: driving, dishing, finishing, shooting. It's one of the most ridiculous things I've seen.
Eye test stuff is always suspect but he just looks like a different player right now. It feels like he is becoming the alpha there and its palpable during this stretch.
IME deserves a ton of credit. The discipline/accountability he has brought to Houston has created a winning atmosphere compared to last season's Kevin Porter Jr. ISO Party.
