14-12 since Doc took over. On pace to win 6 fewer games than last year, that's with Giannis mostly healthy (he's already played 4 more games than all of last season, with 10 left) and with them outplaying their point differential by several games (though that may not be a coincidence, given how good their closers are). Their offensive ceiling is still near the very top of the league (especially late game) and they're roster is filled with vets who've gone deep into the playoffs, but their only hope on defense is that all opponents just miss wide open perimeter shots.
Yep, quite a few issues in Milwaukee.

The BUCKs aren't exactly young. Five of their TOP8 in minutes played are 30+.

Middleton has his spurts of good play but just can't stay healthy. Even Giannis has some lingering knee stuff

The BUCKs have been under the microscope since Opening Night. They are going to be pretty spent by the playoffs.

They need to go 9-1 to eclipse 54.5 wins total.

Oubre should probably be given a pass for that, given that he was definitely fouled on a game-deciding drive as time expired, and got no call.

That said, in general, fuck Kelly Oubre.

Honestly, the lack of foul calls in these games has made every call seem even more important than before.

Yet they have a title. My god
While that's extremely important for the legacy of those involved, I'm not sure how much it matters to their current situation 3 years later, when their 2nd best player from that title team plays for the Celtics and their 3rd best player is a shell of who he was in 2021. Is the title in 2021 more relevant than the fact that they've won 1 playoff series since (compared to 5 each for Boston and Miami)? Reasonable minds can disagree.

I don't think Giannis is a guy that raises his game in the playoffs. He's been the best player in the conference since 2019, and he's made two conference final appearances in five years. He was at his very best on the biggest stage which is a massive feather in his cap (35/13/5 with a .658 TS% in the finals against Phoenix), but in general, he's not been better in the playoffs. Since 2017 (when he became an all-NBA player), he's averaged 28/11/6 with a .617 TS% in the regular season and 28/12/5 with a .582 TS% in the playoffs. He's been phenomenal so far this year, and the Bucks have not. What's going to change in the playoffs?

The Warriors closed tonight’s game with the “All-Legacy lineup” — sons of Gary Payton, Dell Curry, Mitchell Wiggins, Dale Davis, and Mychal Thompson. They acquitted themselves well, too.

Shawn Kemp better hope Seattle doesn’t get a franchise.

Last night a good one for the Celts for securing home court advantage throughout the playoffs, with Thunder and Nuggets both losing. Magic number is, like, four with 10 games left for Boston?

Ime Udoka is now 23-4 in the month of March (11-3 with BOS; 12-1 with HOU).

I wonder if that's some kind of record (for coaching winning percentage for any single month).

Ime is going to have his hands full figuring out how to reintegrate Sengun with this "new" team. Good problem to have.

It's going to be tough for the Rockets to pass the Warriors given their schedules, but we'll see.

There's like nobody at the game in Utah. Seats look <20% full. Is it some sort of holiday for the Mormons? Polygamous Easter or some shit?
I'm a little late here but it's just that no one cares anymore. The team was publicly deflated by getting gutted at the trade deadline two years in a row despite playing decently up until that point both seasons, and as a result they are losing basically every game now. There was a report that the locker room is surprisingly upbeat (the good news) but it's because they don't care about winning or losing anymore (the bad news). Danny has one more offseason to make this work or it's going to get ugly. They are losing a fanbase that has been unerringly supportive.

With no minimums, Cliff Barker went 7-1 in March for Indianapolis back in the day. If you set it to 25 minimum games coached in a single month of combined seasons to get it around Udoka's range? The following tie or exceed Udoka's .852 W%, using regular season games only:

-Billy Cunningham went 30-4 in Octobers (.889 W%). That's it. That's the list.

Great game by the Knicks and Spurs. Brunson scores 61(!) as the Spurs win in OT, Wemby fills up the box score with 40/20/7. Brunson had a decent look to take the lead with under 10 seconds, but it rimmed out. Shockingly, Josh Hart was just 4th on the Knicks in minutes, with 42.

Phoenix was blown out by OKC (without SGA), they're now in 8th place. If they don't make the playoffs, they have to be the most disappointing team this year by a mile (they started the year 3rd in title odds).

Phoenix has been a bit disappointing but they’d be 5th seed in the East with their current record. The West is an absolute gauntlet right now.

We'll see where they end up. They've got by far the hardest schedule left, and even if it's softened by teams resting their stars (like OKC did tonight), it's no guarantee that they'll win. 10-9 since the ASB, and that's with their big 3 being reasonably healthy. They've been weirdly solid against the Nuggets (2 of their post ASB wins were @ Denver), but playoff status currently gives them just a 59% chance of making the playoffs, which sounds about right.

Twolves win in Denver. They are tied now. Think Cs magic number dropped by 1, as well.

Tbh, the magic number vs Denver is all that concerns me. Going on the road to Minny or OKC doesn't feel like nearly as big a deal. (I know #1 overall is very very likely, just sayin)

Yeah, I don’t view them as more than early round fodder. One of those teams where the whole is less than the sum of the parts.

Rockets now have won 11 in a row. This is a good part of the reason why they are winning. Green had 34 points, nine boards and six assists again tonight though he did it on 24 shots and struggled from the line.

The last 15 games has been crazy. He flipped a switch. He's better in every facet: driving, dishing, finishing, shooting. It's one of the most ridiculous things I've seen.

Eye test stuff is always suspect but he just looks like a different player right now. It feels like he is becoming the alpha there and its palpable during this stretch.

IME deserves a ton of credit. The discipline/accountability he has brought to Houston has created a winning atmosphere compared to last season's Kevin Porter Jr. ISO Party.

All of Houston's young players have improved this season (Sengun, Smith, Thompson, Green). We're looking at a 20+ game turnaround here.
