Miami loses by 2 at home to the Wiz. Another data point in HRB’s theory about teams playing poorly at home after a long road trip perhaps?
I wouldn’t have considered that for Miami here as it was only a 2-game trip. My other spot I do look for is to play on a team, in this case Washington, beginning a long road trip as they are more motivated than normal in getting trip off on the right foot.

I'm trying not to watch Heat games, if only because mentally I'm rooting for them to win (I don't want them in the play in and potentially facing Boston in round 1), but I can't stomach them doing well when I actually watch. Miami went from 4th less than 2 weeks ago to 8th after this loss.

It's interesting that the top 10 has basically been set in both conferences for weeks, but the fight to stay out of the play in for both conferences will go right down to the wire (2.5 games separate 4th and 8th in the east, and 3.5 games separate 6th and 10th in the west).

DiVincenzo and Oubre beefing in the 76ers @ Knicks.

Also that Sengun injury sucks. He is so fun to watch play and is another player who feels like he is below the radar of your NBA casuals.

Also Bill Kennedy is my favorite ref.

Really awkward landing for Sengun tonight. Looked really bad and he had to be taken off in a wheelchair. Looks like maybe injuries to both ankle and knee.
Ooooof that looked bad but his reaction in the wheelchair looked worse.

79-73 is the final, Knicks get beat by the Sixers with no Tyrese Maxey. This board would have been apoplectic at that horrendous loss.
Jesus, when was the last time a score under 80 won a game? I feel like that's a @Brand Name bat-signal. The answer isn't prior to 2000, I can tell you that, nor 2004 if we're including the playoffs.

Two years ago, the low score for a game for a team (nevermind the winning team) was 75. Three teams ended on that score that season; two of them were held to it by the (peak-TimeLord) Celtics, in Jan 2022; the other was a loss to Denver.

Can't speak to the veracity of this, but apparently it's been 8 years:

Nice of Ainge to lick the cookie before putting it back into the jar. Why wouldn't they do this before 3/1? Hard ball over the buy-out dollars? It seems pretty standard for all the other buy-out players, so this still seems very odd.

Does it matter though? It seems like just yesterday that he was a super effective role player for the champion warriors (and he's only 30), but that was two years ago and he's played just 23 games and 320 minutes since then. He hasn't played since December, there isn't indication that he would be of any use to a playoff team in the near future. He makes Ben Simmons look reliable.

He arrived last week against the Bucks, when he stuffed giannis like 3 times. I don't know about his ceiling given that he's already 24, but he's definitely a solid Looney replacement (who is impossibly still just 28, but looks beyond washed).
But Jordan Walsh!!!

Not a bad game by that center in the Raptors game….

19 points
4 rebounds
4 assists
4 steals
1 blocked shot

No, that wasn’t Olynyk’s line and no it wasn’t for the game….these were Jokic’s 3Q numbers alone.

Deandre Ayton has to be an incredibly frustrating player to root for. He moves very well for his size and always seems to show an excellent touch around the basket and in the mid-range, but aside from the fact that he's clearly a guy playing in the wrong era, he completely disappears for large stretches of the game.

Well he did have 22/15 in 33 minutes. Maybe it's his teammates not getting him the ball because there's no doubt he's an efficient scorer.

No blocks though, maybe he's not the force on defense he needs to be.

He was fine in this game (and he is totally invisible defensively), but he's averaging just 14.9 ppg this season. It seemed like he could have a breakout season apart from Booker and Durant, but he's somehow taking fewer shots per game than last year.

As he kept hitting midrangers and making Kornet adjust, I kept wondering why they weren't force-feeding him. He really doesn't have "it".
