NY has moved a lot of their excess prospects and another big deal involving guys like Peraza and/or Wells and/or Gil would start to really impact the top levels of the system, but I think Cashman can thread the needle by helping the current go-for-it edition while keeping the still 3-5 years away hopeful position player core intact:
Anthony Volpe: SS, 21 in a month, will likely start 2022 in AA.
Jasson Dominguez, CF (eventual RF?). turned 19 a month ago, will start 2022 in low A or high A.
Roderick Arias, SS, turns 18 in September, just signed in January as the #1 international prospect.
Brandon Mayea, CF, turns 17 in September, is expected to sign with NY in January as this year's #1 international prospect.
Everson Pereira could be in here too if he survives, a CF born the same month as Volpe (April 2001, Volpe is 18 days younger) and outhit him as teammates with Hudson Valley in the second half of 2021 as Volpe was charging up the prospect lists:
Volpe: .978 OPS in 256 PAs, 15 HRs in 213 ABs
Pereira: 1.030 OPS in 127 PAs, 14 HRs in just 108 ABs (!!!!)
Pereira already being on the 40 man now is going to hurt his chances of sticking around, but if he does, he has huge upside also, #69 as I said above in Kiley McDaniel's recent ESPN prospect list.
