This has been the lakers pbp standard since Chick Hearn passed. It's very annoyingI have the Lakers game on but not really paying attention. Every 5 minutes or so the pbp guy gets *really* excited and I look up expecting to see the Lakers have cut it to 10. Every single time it’s at least 18.
The guy needs to learn some modulation.
60 and counting.Nets up 86-56 at half time. 48 1st quarter points.
KI with 41 in the first half.
I don’t know when it will happen or who will do it but all it will take is a commitment from the coach and team for Wilt’s 100 to go down.Kyrie calls it a night with 60 on 31 fga.
KAT’s undisputed season-high lasts less than 24 hours.
Kobe only took 13 threes in his 81 pt game.I don’t know when it will happen or who will do it but all it will take is a commitment from the coach and team for Wilt’s 100 to go down.
Yeah it would have to be one of those end of season games maybe with someone needing 80 pts to win the scoring title and when you’re that close just go for the big prize. Think about it…..Kobe was a shell of himself that final season, scored in the teens or single digits in 7 of the 9 previous games, yet still got up 50 shots with a little help from his friends to score 81. Curry, Kyrie, Durant…..they could blow through 100 in a similar arrangement if given the opportunity.Kobe only took 13 threes in his 81 pt game.
They're very cognizant of his minutes but if Steph got hot, he'd have a chance
Not to diminish any accomplishments, but let me go ahead and diminish them anyway. Not to diminish any accomplishments, but we are getting into silly season with a lot of teams starting to really go into the tank, guys getting shut down, and coaches experimenting. We've seen a lot of 45+ point games this week and I suspect that will continue.
Luka magic contagious? He knew the double was coming and Spencer was nails.Spencer Dinwiddie at the death against his old team, back-to-back game-winners.

KI not playing the majority of their games is going to make it tough for the Nets to get out the playin. The Nets could have used that part timer who scored 60 last night.
The Cavs are in a free fall and are not a very good team with so many key guys out. The Nets are the ones who would need to collapse to not make the 6 imo. They have it down….Kyrie carries them on the road, Durant at home. They needed a deep Dinwiddie three and a real good Dallas team to beat them.KI not playing the majority of their games is going to make it tough for the Nets to get out the playin.
Free fall or not, the Nets have gained just one game in the past ten on Cleveland. They are still 3.5 games back in the loss column with 12.5 games remaining (12 for BRK, 13 for CLE). If Cleveland goes just 5-8, the Nets would need to go 8-4, which is hard considering Kyrie will be out for 8 of those games. It's true it took a miracle shot for Dallas to beat them...it's equally that Brooklyn barely squeaked by a terrible Knicks team. The Nets with just Durant are not particularly impressive and hardly a lock to go on a nice closing run.The Cavs are in a free fall and are not a very good team with so many key guys out. Toronto winning 5 straight makes things interesting for sure but I’m not concerned about Cleveland. They’ve lost 9 of their last 13 and not getting any healthier so going “just” 5-8 may even be ambitious. I expect the lead to be 2.5 after Friday (Nets>Blazers & Nuggets>Cavs) and they still have a H2H with Durant. I have them projected to finish 2 games ahead of Cleveland with Toronto being the wildcard as I have no read or feel for this team whatsoever. Even if they somehow do get past Cleveland, they'll need to jump Toronto as well to avoid the play in. The Raptors have now won 5 straight, and are also 3.5 games ahead of Brooklyn. I don't see the Nets getting to the 6 seed as being all that likely. The most realistic best outcome for them is Toronto passing Cleveland, then Brooklyn gets to go to Cleveland for the first play in game (as opposed to going on the road to Toronto for the first play in, playing a better team without Kyrie).
If Brooklyn was cruising along at full strength, I'd agree. They are 4-3 since Durant got back, and Kyrie played in 4 of those games. Even if they sweep the 4 remaining Kyrie games (unlikely, given that it includes games @ Memphis and @ Miami), they need to go .500 without Kyrie at minimum. Toronto is going to have the tiebreaker against Brooklyn, they are definitely playing better than either Brooklyn or Cleveland right now, and 9 of their final 13 games are at home. Of the three, they should be considered pretty heavy favorites to finish 6th.Toronto winning 5 straight makes things interesting for sure but I’m not concerned about Cleveland. He's just sticking up for his player. Especially his star player. Heat of the moment and all. Wouldn't be surprised if he and Smart are just fine with each otherBUT Kerr is nutz to call the Marcus Smart dive dirty or even call it unnecessary. Call off the dawgs Bro if you don't want players going to the floor with your precious china dolls.
the latitude the refs gave Kerr walking on the floor yelling at Smart & Dray carrying on with the refs was absurd. All the while Klay gets 2 FTs and the ball. He's just sticking up for his player. Single-handedly, he put Detroit's 3-pt. shooting over the top. 3-pt. shooting without Bey: 34.5%. 3-pt. shooting with Bey: 46.5%.Saddiq Bey with 51 points; 10 for 14 from 3-point range.
Really, really stings right about now. Bey would be fantastic as another rotation wing on this team.Single-handedly, he put Detroit's 3-pt. shooting over the top. 3-pt. shooting without Bey: 34.5%. 3-pt. shooting with Bey: 46.5%.
That was the draft we could've had Josh Green, Bey, Precious Achiuwa, or Tyrese Maxey, because we picked at #14.
Instead we got ... Aaron Nesmith.
Nice to read one of these “what if’s” that didn’t include Desmond Bane. My recollection of that draft was that it was really Meh around 14 and most of us liked the pick at the time. Damn, even I liked it until Brad began with his words of caution and then we quickly saw why the first time he hit the floor. Even still, it wasn’t like groups were screaming for Bey and Maxey on draft night like when Olynyk was drafted. It was a complete crap shoot at 14 that year imo.Single-handedly, he put Detroit's 3-pt. shooting over the top. 3-pt. shooting without Bey: 34.5%. 3-pt. shooting with Bey: 46.5%.

There were some warning signs on Nesmith. For one, his stock began falling before draft night, to the point where I think he was projected to go somewhere in the 20s by the time the big day came? Also, I remember wondering if he was essentially fool's gold. He had that run of great shooting from three, but it was in an injury-shortened season. His first year in college, he was a much more pedestrian .337. He looked like a small sample size bet waiting to go south. Still, if the shooting had been real, he would've been a nice get for sure. I suppose there's still a chance it is; he does have good form.Nice to read one of these “what if’s” that didn’t include Desmond Bane.
