Here’s the Tour’s statement. As empty as could be.

If it makes you feel any better, there are baseball games going on right now, including Milwaukee.I've been watching, but it feels a little weird to be watching given what's going on in the rest of the sports world. In some ways, it's like that Thursday of The Players where the Tour plowed ahead while the rest of the world was in the early stages of COVID shutdown. Not saying the Tour should not be playing, just that it feels a little eerie watching it.
In addition, this event, like most PGA tour events, raises a lot of money for charity. Not playing could compromise that cause, or at least be a disrespectful act towards those providing the charitable funds, especially without fans providing ticket revenue. There's a big difference between being paid a salary and protesting and having to earn a paycheck. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but I can appreciate why some not not want to sit out.
It's been insanely hot out here all week. Supposed to rain tonight and be cooler tomorrow. The course could be considerably different this weekend.Turns out Rory just needed a little challenge. He looks good, has the lead.
These greens are like cement.
It's good practice for Winged Foot, if nothing else.Leader at -1 late on Friday. US Open happening here.
Something something old people rules through the green.Having to play a ball out of a divot is probably the dumbest rule in all of professional sports.
Once again, I seem to be out of step with SoSH's golfing contingent. So much of golf is about dealing with the rub of the green and playing the ball as it lies; you can get good lies in the rough, and very occasionally you can get bad lies in the fairway, and being a good golfer is about having the mental fortitude to deal with all of them. Also, you can't always define a "divot" with 100% certainty, and the last thing we need is the Brysons of the world arguing with rules officials about whether they deserve a free drop in the fairway and slowing the game down still further.Having to play a ball out of a divot is probably the dumbest rule in all of professional sports.
I would have bet my life you disagreed with this!Once again, I seem to be out of step with SoSH's golfing contingent. I'm happy not to disappoint. In truth, I absolutely get where you're coming from, but calling it "the dumbest rule in all of professional sports" is massively hyperbolic. (For one thing, it's not even a rule; you'd have to add a rule to change the "play it as it lies" principle.)I would have bet my life you disagreed with this!
It was pretty cool, to be sure.Having said that, the best moment of the tournament (to me) was watching Hughes make the clutch up and down to qualify for East Lake.
I looked for it on that last replay.Anyone read the lips? “Let’s go motherfucker”
It was muttered briefly under his breath - if you were looking for it, I think you could just about see it.I looked for it on that last replay.

I phrased that poorly. I did see it and it was amusing.
