When you sign a contract like his, you're totally fair game when you're sucking.Mookie is now 2 for 14 this series. I've already seen some Dodger fans complaining about his October woes.

He's off limits; ie, they know what to expect from him come playoff time. What ... no Kershaw bashing?
If they're complaining now, think of how they'll feel 11 years from now on the back end of the contract when he's all they have left and the result is no WS titles.Mookie is now 2 for 14 this series. I've already seen some Dodger fans complaining about his October woes.

I've got a bunch at my parents house you can have; I'll just have to take the clothespins off of them and remove them from my old bicycle tire spokes.I'm about to stress buy baseball cards
I did the same thing after being displaced by Hurricane Katrina. It helped me get through some PTSD. Bought a bunch of 1975 cards that my mother had thrown out when I was a kid. I feel better now...really.Hey man, I'm going through my mid-life crisis, and it just happens to be baseball card buying. Forgive me for finding an excuse to spend more money on them.
As an aside, I did buy a Mookie rookie last night, which I'mexcited to get in a few days.
Dodger fans are going crazy trying to figure out blame right now, I've seen plenty of Roberts, Kershaw, Betts, anyoneWhat ... no Kershaw bashing?
He had an .899 ops this playoffs coming into todayWhen you sign a contract like his, you're totally fair game when you're sucking.
Correct.Yeah, the Dodgers haven't had a huge inning in hours.
They said there’s no chance Fried goes on short rest, so it will be 3. They might even start Tomlin (!!!).From -12 to +8: I'm guessing there have been bigger run-differential turnarounds in back-to-back playoff games, but there can't have been too many.
I was absolutely ready for the series to be tied 2-2 after that game, but Bryce Wilson, take an absolute bow. The Braves needed him to go six innings even if he gave up 16 runs, just to revitalize the bullpen; for him to out-pitch Kershaw and give up only two baserunners in six innings was simply extraordinary.
So, if you're Brian Snitker, what is your starting pitching plan for the rest of the series? A few potential ideas:
1) Fried (short rest), Anderson (short rest), Wright (probably on full rest after his short outing in Game 3)
2) Fried (short rest), Wright (probably rested enough?), Anderson (full rest)
3) Bullpen game, Fried (full rest), Anderson (full rest)
I have no idea which option makes the most sense.
I was intending to come here and ask if there was really as big a difference between his season vs. his post-season numbers, but then Mlb Now on mlbn did a whole segment on it. It's real and it's spectacular(ly noticeable). He is not the horse you are looking for a la Schilling, Johnson, was the conclusion.Playoff Kershaw.
Lester, maybe, in his prime?Forget about the all time greats like Gibson or Koufax or Schilling. How many pitchers from his own era would you pick to start a must win game over Kershaw? Bumgarner, Strasburg, Verlander, Wainwright, Scherzer. And that’s just off the top of my head.
Charlie Morton, tooForget about the all time greats like Gibson or Koufax or Schilling. How many pitchers from his own era would you pick to start a must win game over Kershaw? Bumgarner, Strasburg, Verlander, Wainwright, Scherzer. And that’s just off the top of my head.
'75 Topps were my first (and still favorite) cards.I did the same thing after being displaced by Hurricane Katrina. It helped me get through some PTSD. Bought a bunch of 1975 cards that my mother had thrown out when I was a kid. I feel better now...really.
He was their closer before getting hurt. And a 2nd round draft pick.Must be nice to have guys like that in your org couch cushions.
Ah, thanks. I didn’t get the full context from the announcers. He was their closer before getting hurt. And a 2nd round draft pick.
Its nice to have friends who routinely bail you out with their defense and hitting. Especially original Fight Club members.Kelly got lucky there.
