Wouldn't surprise me if the Texans dealt their 2022, 2023, and 2024 first rounders for Adams. Because BOB.
Barnwell has a piece talking about him sort of playing LB and Edge:Is Seattle confused about the position Adams plays?
Nominally, it seems likely that the Seahawks will line up Adams in a similar way to how they used Chancellor. It's the best place for Adams, who is an excellent hitter, a strong run defender and a devastating blitzer off the edge. According to Football Outsiders data, only two safeties made run stops more frequently than Adams did a year ago. Chancellor was stretched in coverage and was often targeted by teams when they wanted to try to go after somebody in the Legion of Boom at its peak, but Adams is better in coverage than Chancellor was.
StoryThe sad truth is that the Jets probably weren't going to be contending in the recent future, with or without Adams.
Which is why while i agree the Jets "Won" this trade by getting a haul.....what they do with that Haul will be interesting and probably underwhelming if history is any indications.I think I read that the Jets have traded 4 of their 5 first round picks from 2013-2017. Not great, Bob.
Christopher Johnson finished a 16-minute session with reporters. Main takeaways: “Full confidence” in Gase. Calls him a “brilliant” offensive mind. #Jets
I was listening to Robert Mays' Atheltic football podcast and he was killing Gase over the pitiful amount of play-action the Jets run compared to most of the NFL. The most damning aspect of Gase's coaching ability is Tannehill is just light years better without him. TN does have better personnel.
He was ok in that 8-5 year. 19-12 TD-INT, 67.1%, 7.7 YPATannehill was 8-5 the year he was healthy with Gase and had decent numbers. Yes he is better with Tenn but he didnt go from sucking with the Fish and Gase to awesome with the Titans. I'm not a Gase stan by any means but let's say Gase gets fired this week. Who credible wants this job? Fire a guy after going 7-9 when his qb missed 4 games and had a bad roster?
Now the GM, who I like, trades away the best player on D (good trade but not a win now move) and the other big contract guy (Mosley) sits out due to covid. Meanwhile, on Offense, there are 0 receivers, GM let our best one walk and Bell (big contract guy) absolutely sucks for us. I like most of the moves the GM made but they are win later moves.
So, in conclusion, Gase has looked bad. But Bills (Walsh, Parcells, and Belichick) are not walking through that door. So Gase has to stay and probably has stay at least another year for this org to have any credibility with potential hires.
Look at those games. The Jets beat Washington, Miami, Buffalo with the backup QB in b/c they were in the playoffs, so the Bills threw that game away to avoid injuries. They beat the Steelers with Mason and Duck, and the putrid NY Giants. 5 wins on paper but basically they were playing bad teams. They beat the average Raiders, too.(7-9) Their one solid win was against the Cowboys. Who were 8-8.Tannehill was 8-5 the year he was healthy with Gase and had decent numbers. -83 point differential, too. Worse than the Browns.
It was the softest 7-9 season in history. Gase is bad, man. And he's seemingly getting worse. The molly is definitely effecting him adversely.
Not long ago, the 49ers fired head coaches three straight seasons and still got Kyle Shanahan. Your logic makes sense, but that doesn't seem to be how things play out.My concern is not that Gase is good and people think he is bad, it is that we will not be able to hire a coach if we aren’t seen as giving the coach a fair shake. When Bowles (who I liked) was here, his staff was shit and his GM was shit. Let Gase have the season and maybe even next season.
Keep piling up picks and then be an attractive destination for a good coach.

There are 32 head coaching vacancies in the NFL. It's an attractive spot just based upon the lack of choices.Maybe but we’ve had problems in this regard. We could get lucky with an unknown or someone that wants the splash of NYC.
Looks like the change is already made!@SeoulSoxFan I hereby nominate a thread title change to this:
2020 Jets: We'll Play Anyone With A Pulse

Going to be real tough. Probably helps him that they aren’t trying to sell tickets.I don’t see how Gase survives the season.
nothing will change unless they get new owners.... They will keep cycling thru coaches every other yearI don’t see how Gase survives the season.
As long as he stays hydrated, it’s hard to OD on Molly.I don’t see how Gase survives the season.
Why would anyone pay a 1 for Darnold right now?Draft Trevor #1 overall, deal Darnold for an additional #1 PLUS, AND you have the additional Seahawks picks. Not a bad start for their new coach, whoever that is. Bienemi?
I'm so, so thankful you're not BB.Because he is a great prospect in a shitty situation. I think a lot of teams would give up a 1st and more for him. If I’m BB and Cam isn’t resigned, I do that deal in a heartbeat.
Thats Not who Lawrence would be throwing too. The probably have to take LawrenceThis team looks so so bad.
Interesting to think about - if they end up with the number 1 pick, do they draft Trevor and ditch Darnold that quickly or do they try to trade the pick for a ransom?
The thought of watching Lawrence get murdered behind this offensive line and trying to survive throwing to Braxton Berrios and Breshaud Perriman makes me sad.
Josh Rosen was a great prospect, too.Because he is a great prospect in a shitty situation. I think a lot of teams would give up a 1st and more for him. If I’m BB and Cam isn’t resigned, I do that deal in a heartbeat.
Ha! We probably all should be. (Although we’d have Deebo Samuel instead of Harry.) But I’m not sure why people think Darnold deserves enough blame to make him unworthy of a 1st round pick. He’s still very talented and approximately 12 years old. He’s got zero weapons and no time to throw.I'm so, so thankful you're not BB.
yes, he was. I think Darnold has more potential than Rosen.Josh Rosen was a great prospect, too.
