Indeed, and quite a pile of battered bodies on both teams after this one.Welp. Great game.
ShhhhhhhhhhhhhIn the clutch moments, in the biggest part of the game....Russ threw a red zone INT
TB12 had 32oz of water and was in bed by 9:00pm.Is TB12 up watching the protege here?
That OT was a putrid display of the sportFootball is the best sport by a large margin
Not sure about 8-0, but in 1990 the Giants and 49ers were both 10-0 and lost. They played each other in the 12th game. Could have been 11-0 vs 11-0 for the first time ever.Has there been another year when the last two undefeated teams were 8-0 and then they both lost?

Yeah, God knows I have some *thorough* criticisms of the NFL, but if you couldn't enjoy watching that game, I question why you bother turning on any NFL game in the first place. That was as good as a regular season game gets. And yet .... I was glued to the TV
Nobody is saying it was a beautifully played game. It was an exciting game between two contenders. As putrid as it was fundamentally, it was fun to watch. That OT was a putrid display of the sport
Thanks. Later, in the NFC championship game between the two, a Roger Craig fumble put an end to the 49ers quest for a threepeat, which no team has yet to accomplish. Not sure about 8-0, but in 1990 the Giants and 49ers were both 10-0 and lost. A tie pretty much concedes the division.Belicheck definitely plays for the tie in that spot, right?
I think you play for the win but only after taking a loss off the table. Run on first down and get it down to a minute. Now you go. But on any third and long you can run a draw play. Maybe you get lucky and get the first and keep going. But if not run it down to essentially the end. The 49ers were in a great position. When can you virtually ever be in a no lose position? (Where a tie puts you in commanding position to avoid a wild card.) Plus, they are a good running team. Run on first down and let that play dictate what you do. They even had a time out.Belicheck definitely plays for the tie in that spot, right?
Wait what?A tie pretty much concedes the division.
Well, the outcome was in doubt so there was tension. Lots of poor play + Tessitore made it hard tho. Whoever said he announces as if he’s auctioning cattle was spot on.Yeah, God knows I have some *thorough* criticisms of the NFL, but if you couldn't enjoy watching that game, I question why you bother turning on any NFL game in the first place. People seem to always conflate "the defense made a play" with "the offense played poorly". Like, we can't give both sides credit for executing well, so with a close game, we have to say that they both sucked. It's bizarre.Nobody is saying it was a beautifully played game. It was an exciting game between two contenders. As putrid as it was fundamentally, it was fun to watch.
No defense of Tessitore though, for sure. The sooner we get @ConigliarosPotential calling games on our TVs, the sooner everyone here is happier.Well, the outcome was in doubt so there was tension. Yes, thank you. Sorry for the misunderstandingWait what?
Edit: guessing you mean from the Seattle position. But I think the post was referring to the Niners last drive.
Can't even do a coin flip correct.
Answered my own question. 34 total OT games since the rule changed for 2017 (so 2 1/2 seasons now)Has there been 5 possessions in an OT game since they went 10 minutes? This is crazy.
Go deep Russ
Not saying flip mishap didn't happen, but that video is suspiciously clipped at the beginning
