No just a general statement about needing depth. NFL is a game of attrition these days.We need depth in July? Or is JE11 our depth man?
I guess he meant to add a comma: "depth, man."We need depth in July? Or is JE11 our depth man?
This can't be right except on a technicality. Welker was on all four teams in franchise history that topped 500 points. Edelman was technically on the 10-12 squads, but he barely played. The offense has not scored as many points 13-18 as it did 07-12.The Pats have also averaged more points with him than any other offensive player -- including Welker Moss and Gronk. I think I read this on 538 but can't find it atm.
Procedurally, no difference. Edelman would be out for the first 6 weeks if he starts the season on NFI. One key difference financially, however, is that the Pats are not obligated to pay a player their base salary if they are on NFI. The NFI designation is most commonly utilized for draft picks and undrafted free agents who got hurt prior to the draft. What’s the difference procedurally between PUP and NFI, when the season starts?
And does anyone know the details on Edelman’s prognosis?
By the time he's missed I think he broke it.It was a sprained thumb, right?
Too many words: "Check the injury report on Wednesday."Procedurally, no difference. Edelman would be out for the first 6 weeks if he starts the season on NFI. As to your second question, the initial rumors had him out a couple of weeks, which then turned into the entire preseason. As to the details, you do know whom your dealing with..... We can all hear Bill saying "Once he's cleared by the medical staff, we'll make whatever decision is in the best interest of the club."
I have no idea who that guy is, but in all the time I've read about football, here and all over the internet, I've never seen anyone reference the site he is a writer for.I mean there's no way right? Just signed an extension and would cost the Pats $9 million or so in dead money over 2019 and 2020 caps.

That’s when I stopped caring about that tweetAlshon, not Alston.
Yeah, makes zero sense.I mean there's no way right? Just signed an extension and would cost the Pats $9 million or so in dead money over 2019 and 2020 caps.

They just hired Tony Pauline who has been around the league for a while and has a lot of connections. They said that Laremy Tunsil and other Dolphins players were on the trade block yesterday. Today, Tunsil's people confirmed that this is true. Certainly not saying the Edelman bit is true because of this, but Tony Pauline brings a bit of credibility to that site.I have no idea who that guy is, but in all the time I've read about football, here and all over the internet, I've never seen anyone reference the site he is a writer for.
Okay, maybe site is somewhat legit. But I still doubt the dude tweeting has the goods here. They just hired Tony Pauline who has been around the league for a while and has a lot of connections. They said that Laremy Tunsil and other Dolphins players were on the trade block yesterday. Today, Tunsil's people confirmed that this is true. Did he specify a Patriots WR?On Lombardi’s podcast last week, he said he was working to verify a WR on the trade block that would “shock people”. I think JE would qualify.
Still seems unlikely......
