And the Astros had him bunt in the WSZack Greinke spent the final two months of 2019 in the AL, but still won both the Silver Slugger and Gold Glove awards for P for the NL, pretty amazing. We saw his fielding in game 7 of the WS, and his hitting, he had a .883 OPS in 54 PAs for ARI, 3 HRs in 48 ABs.
How about Edro for Kopech?Jeff Passan is tweeting out some offseason notes in a thread.
--Wilson Contreras is going to be available.
--Rangers have expressed interest in Josh Donaldson
--White Sox and Jose Abreu have discussed a long-term deal.
--Hot name in the relief pitcher market: Drew Pomeranz. He expects Pomeranz to get a multi-year deal at a strong AAV.
--Yankees and Brett Gardner have engaged in talks about a return.
Jon Heyman also says that the Reds are interested in Didi Gregorius.
Bruce Levine says the White Sox will check in on both Dallas Keuchel and Cole Hamels as they are interested in veteran LH starting pitching.
The Sox would have killed to have had this Drew Pomeranz on their staff this past season:It would be nice if Boston could get pitchers like Drew Pomeranz.
Alas, they had Drew Pomeranz instead.
Or traded a really promising young prospect for him.The Sox would have killed to have had this Drew Pomeranz on their staff this past season:

I like the alternate uni a lot. IMO the others would be fine if they lost the pinstripes and perhaps a patch featuring the old school friar on the sleeve might be a nice touch. I'm also noticing a Nike logo. Are they now the official uniform supplier for MLB or are teams being allowed to strike their own deals? And FWIW, the shoes suck. The Padres are finally going with brown and yellow as their primary colors. New uniforms for 2020.

I'd go with the former given that the guy wearing them is an ass clown.OMG. The cleats on the guy in the middle. Clown shoes or bowling shoes?
They added a sleeve patch with the old school friar. It looks great.I like the alternate uni a lot. I think if it were anywhere else but the very light-hitting AL Central, he might have been quicker to jump. But odds are pretty good he’ll enter FA next year with similar numbers, and next year’s starting pitching market has fewer big names (Bauer, Paxton, Minor at the top).Odorizzi surprises me. I thought he'd want to cash in his career year. I know I saw a rumor the Jays were interested in him, but maybe that means he already had a sense of what was out there and felt he'd get stuck in Dallas Keuchel territory. I don't think the odds are great that he'll make more money over the next three years this way though.
And no QO next year.I think if it were anywhere else but the very light-hitting AL Central, he might have been quicker to jump. But odds are pretty good he’ll enter FA next year with similar numbers, and next year’s starting pitching market has fewer big names (Bauer, Paxton, Minor at the top).
There's a managerial opening in Pittsburgh. The return of Farrell?Old buddy Ben Cherington has taken the PIT GM job, according to multiple reports.
theres nothing that prevents him from working out a longer term extension with the Twins with this as a base either.Back to Odorizzi, I was also a bit surprised, but get the sense that he enjoyed playing on this particular Twins team, which was both fun and good. Taking a nice annual payday that let's you stay in a place you want to be has its appeal. The grass isn't always greener, after all. And he's had no real health problems, so betting on himself and expecting another shot at FA next year is also reasonable.
maybe they can come back as a position player after 10 days but can’t appear as a pitcher until day 15?How do you define a pitcher? What happens when Ohtani or Brendan McKay hits the IL?
Hmm, that kind of works. The lineup card each day could note anyone who is not "pitcher eligible" for that game.maybe they can come back as a position player after 10 days but can’t appear as a pitcher until day 15?
He is still under NY control, they have ten days to trade or release him. Since he has all three options left and is only making around $1M, I don't think it will be hard for them to find a trade partner who isn't Boston.Greg Bird would look very nice in a Red Sox uniform. Add him to the list of cheap 1Bmen Available this offseason.
Wow striking early good for them. They sured up a weakness on the roster and have a nice young core. They are in Chicago no reason they can’t spend a little. The White Sox signed Yasmani Grandal to a 4-year, $73 million contract.

Didn't realize James McCann was a weakness. They really needed an OF first, then starting pitching. Hopefully Grandal keeps hitting enough so they can DH him sometimes, especially if Zack Collins flops.Wow striking early good for them. They are gonna be dangerous next year.
Yes, McCann is a terrible pitch framer:Didn't realize James McCann was a weakness. They really needed an OF first, then starting pitching. Hopefully Grandal keeps hitting enough so they can DH him sometimes, especially if Zack Collins flops.
