Wait, the Steelers weren't offside on a FG attempt? How the fuck did that happen?

That was a dumb FG attempt anyway. Granted it's 4th and 10, but your defense hasn't stopped shit lately. The only thing that stopped the Steelers was Ridley.

So the Saints refuse to use Kamera on that drive and look what happens: blocked field goal. They should feature him more in their offense. He doesn't get the ball enough.

For the Saints, it’s never been one back that gets featured. Payton has used multiple backs for as long as I can remember.

Cook has missed 5 games this year so Zimmer’s thinking is to not go overboard with his usage. He’s also coming off an ACL last year. Next year, it should be more of a feature back role which I think it started out to be this year before the injuries.

Gore and Drake have the exact same YPC
this year at 4.6. Not much drop off in the running game with either one.
Payton's never had a running back as good and as explosive as Kamara, since maybe Reggie Bush (but Bush was never a great runner, like Kamara). Just because this is what Payton does doesn't make it right. Two years ago, he was stealing carries from Mark Ingram and giving them to Tim Hightower, and to use your stat (which I don't think is the right way to look at these things) Ingram averaged 5.1ypc and Hightower was 4.1.

Zimmer isn't the reason Cook wasn't used. It was the offensive coordinator, old Flip, that got fired two weeks ago. Unsurprising to anyone, the next game was Cook's best of the year and his most usage. They just didn't run the ball, but when they did, for every 2 carries Cook got, Murray got one, and that's just terrible.

The reason I say, you can't look at ypc to glean anything is because NFL plays aren't made the same. It's why I despise LeGarrette Blount in his final year in New England and called him "Mr. Minimum." It's my opinion that virtually every time he touched the ball, he got the minimum amount of yards (if not less) that any average NFL running back would have gotten. Just because Gore is getting 4.6ypc and Drake is doing the same doesn't mean Drake would average 4.6ypc on the same plays Gore was getting. If Gore gets good blocking from his line, and gets 10 yards on a play, maybe Drake hits that hole a little faster and instead of 10, he gets 20. When you are playing guys that aren't as talented, you're taking the ball out of the hands of a guy who could do more with it.

Every team needs a change of pace guy and someone to come in and give a guy a breather, but when you have a stud running back, giving a dozen touches to a guy that is way inferior is, IMO, costing the team in the end. It's why I don't understand giving Rex Burkhead so many touches over James White or Sony Michel. I just don't think he does as much with it when he gets it as they would.

DotB, bigger travesty?

Ingram getting touches over Kamara
Gore getting touches over Drake
Howard getting touches over Cohen
Murray getting touches over Cook
Josh Gordon booted out of the NFL for taking non-performance-enhancing substances that are legal in practically half the united states.

Maybe Tomlin is the smart one. He figures if they don't get it, the Saints will score so fast that they'll have enough time on the clock to score again.

If the Steelers lose this game and miss the playoffs, they have to fire Tomlin. That was a horrible choice.
There are reasons to fire Tomlin. Going for a fake punt there is very far down the list if it is even on it.
