off-tackle RBs at least. All 3 taken thus far are the finesse type a la kamaraClearly running backs are now the market inefficiency.
What part of DLew replacement did you people not understand?A loose ACL. Cool.
LinkMort does not look healthy. Weird speech pattern, like someone with throat or esophagus cancer.
Promise? Our D is going to be pitiful next year. D for me. I’m out.
By the time the rusher is at the QB, he has 20 YACHow is Michel in pass pro?
HehWhat part of DLew replacement did you people not understand?
Thanks Jerry. Make sure you email BB.Our D is going to be pitiful next year. D for me. I’m out.
Mort est Mort. Le Fin.I think Mort just died on TV.
Just wait for us to sign Flacco as Brady's 2020 backup. That's gonna be a real corker.Of all the fucking franchises...
Shit, I had no idea. Ever since my mother had throat cancer, I've been able to pick out folks who have it after only hearing them say a few words. Hopefully, he beats it, but it's a tough one.
They were pretty high on David Rivers before he hurt his knee.So if we assume one of the remain 2nd/3rd round picks goes for a QB, there's not a lot of ammo left to add to the defense. Guess we need to wait and see how tomorrow plays out, but really don't understand the strategy here, even if the two picks themselves look like good players...
He's a work in progress but at 214 I think you can try to coach that up. It is not for lack of effort and honestly I was higher on that part of his game than others. How is Michel in pass pro?
The profile at NFL.com reads, "He's not the most creative runner and he lacks some finesse, but his size, pass protection and ability to create yardage make him a natural fit as a future NFL starter."How is Michel in pass pro?
I still don't think drafting a QB is a necessity this year. Defensive talent is needed ASAP. however. So if we assume one of the remain 2nd/3rd round picks goes for a QB, there's not a lot of ammo left to add to the defense. Guess we need to wait and see how tomorrow plays out, but really don't understand the strategy here, even if the two picks themselves look like good players...
Agree 100%, unless he's a David Johnson or Le'Veon Bell type. Of course, neither were first rounders.I hate 1st round RBs. Rbs are essentially fungible as recent years have proven even top RBs, their backups produce similar numbers when they go out. You don;t need a top RB to win, and often you're better off elsewhere with the money you save signing a Dion Lewis, Legarette Blount, etc.
Derek Rivers, but yes. They were pretty high on David Rivers before he hurt his knee.
He’s definitely going a lot deeper in this draft than I thought possible. It’s really really hard.Dick Hammer appears to have slid hard.
At some point Brady will decline and he won't be able to make the throws he once could. Having an elite running game and offensive line will help soften that blow and may extend Brady's career. These picks help the transition back into a game manager rather than an elite passer. I have no problem with either of those picks.I’m disappointed no first round D. Our D is multiple players from being super bowl ready, and the offense is already elite.
That's a ridiculous comparison. 1) Lots of teams have the same TEs on the field for both passing and running plays. 2) Lots of teams have the same RBs on the field for both passing and running plays. What makes Gronk Gronk is that he is among the best in the league at both. I like Michel, but that is way to much to expect from him. It's not like they couldn't pass and run with the personel with Lewis.
Dave Archibald:
My hot take: Sony Michel is in some ways the new Rob Gronkowski. Gronk gave the Patriots rare ability to run / pass out of the same personnel looks, with which they mixed and matched RBs. Hard now to find two-dimensional TEs; enter Michel, who will bring similar versatility to RB
Well said and agreed. Hayden Hurst went high - would you rather have Hurst or Michel? (I am pretty sure that is a rhetorical question for most people). Also, if our target is Lauletta at QB, Michel will only be 0-15 yards downfield. Kidding.
But Brady should still be elite next season. All he needs to win another SB is just health and a defense that isn’t awful. At some point Brady will decline and he won't be able to make the throws he once could. Having an elite running game and offensive line will help soften that blow and may extend Brady's career. These picks help the transition back into a game manager rather than an elite passer. I have no problem with either of those picks.
