Lue has to be owed around $10-12m on his contract to boot. It's nice to be Tyronn Lue today. This is actually good for Lue, he doesn't have to be saddled wit this awful team for the rest of the season.

And just like that......with one tweet Luke Walton is suddenly on the hot seat.LeBron James
@KingJames
T Lue thanks for the memories and more importantly our partnership bringing a championship to that deserved city/fan base. U know how to find me.
I''m sure Cleveland would love to get rid of the final two years and $15m Korver is due.Korver available?

He's too old...….and not injured enough. I'm sure they'd be interested in Lonnie Walker though.the Sixers might be interested
Not to get off topic but Sundays in October are my favorite days of the year.Maybe more appropriate here...
(Pretty good sports day in the SRN household: saw the Warriors dispatch the Nets at Barclay's at 5 pm, then rushed home just in time for the WS opening pitch.)
It didn't smell right to me when Pitino said he was finished coaching. That's all he knows.....coaches coach. I mean if an owner evaluated Thibs, saw all of his obvious leadership flaws, and gave him complete autonomy of the organization I'm sure there is someone out there intrigued by Pitino. It really looks like Pitino is pressing for a new job...
Recency bias alert, but I'd seriously consider taking the Clippers' bench mob — Lou Williams, SGA, Scott, Harrell, Boban, sixth man Teodosic — over the LOLWizards' starting five. Pretty sure it's been mentioned here already, but I think a lot of people are massively sleeping on the Clips. I'd bet even money on them to make the playoffs, and wouldn't really relish drawing them in the first round. On another note, Boban Marjanovic is averaging 32 and 17 per 36 minutes.
Yup, I really like this team and they have the perfect coach for that roster. They are built for regular season success with so much depth but I wouldn't expect much out of them in the playoffs as that tournament favors the top heavy rosters.Recency bias alert, but I'd seriously consider taking the Clippers' bench mob — Lou Williams, SGA, Scott, Harrell, Boban, sixth man Teodosic — over the LOLWizards' starting five. I was referring to Boban's offensive ball skills, footwork and natural scoring ability. He can be exploited defensively especially in todays game but he's a flat out beast offensively in the minutes that he does get. He has 51 points in 56 minutes while shooting 76% from the field......in the preseason he scored 60 points over 51 minutes on 69% shooting.I don't know how skilled Boban is-- his defense leaves something to be desired--but he can dunk without jumping.
I agree about the Clips, though. As for the Wizards, they are giving up 140 ppg and already fighting among themselves. But Grunfield will blame it all on Scott Brooks and then overpay for a few more mediocre players.
So it is hard to disentangle Pitino's record as GM from his record as a coach, but one way is to look at the season where he was fired. 12-22 under Pitino, 24-24 under Jim O'Brien, with basically the same personnel. They went on to have 2 reasonably good seasons under O'Brien, although by then the talent was better. As a GM/VPOps he failed on several levels. As an NBA Head Coach however [Pitino] was clearly in the upper half at the time he was in the league in getting both the Knicks and Celtics to overachieve the talent on the floor.
Apparently, first game in NBA history between teams that both enter with a record of 6-0 or better.Raptors @ Bucks tonight. Should be a really good game. The Bucks have been destroying everyone since game 1.
Yup. I was on Team Spurs as well and though people were underselling what Pop could do with a flawed but still somewhat talented team. And this was before Murray and Walker went down, which was a huge blow.I think the Spurs are going to be better than people think. DeRozan has been outstanding this season; I know they have crappy PGs, but DeRozan is averaging 8.5 assists right now and I think having bad PGs isn't that big of a deal as long as another perimeter player is creating for others. Aldridge is still a solid #2 option, Rudy Gay has been a good PF for them; Pop is going to get the most out of the role players; I think they are going to surprise people with how well they finish.
Nice. Seems to me like the biggest thing he has to work on is his body, which is also one of the easiest things for young players to work on, with armies of nutritionists, chefs, workout gurus, etc. at their beck and call. Give him a year to work off the baby fat and get into a lither, stronger, more Manu-like body, and look out.Doncic is good. HRB is going to be eating all those negative words he had to say
31 points last night, to go with 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. For the season is 20/6.5/4 and shooting 39% from three
Houston is really really fragile. They were already really shallow against the Dubs, and lost Ariza from that. Add in the fact that Melo is almost unplayable now, and they're in trouble. I don't want to overreact to early season stuff, but at the least, I'm comfortable saying that they look like a 6-8 seed. It's hard to be top half in the West with those types of depth issues.Suddenly the Rockets and Wizards are terrible.
Wolves may need to re-think Houston's offer of 4 firsts for Butler. This could be a crystal ball to the Rocket's future in a few years.Houston is really really fragile. Why are you ignoring the turnaround of both the Knicks and the Celtics once he was hired? Records aside, Pitino was one of the first to integrate analytics into the college and later the NBA game. He's a pioneer in that regard. This isn't Larry Drew or Tyronn Lue weren't talking about here.So it is hard to disentangle Pitino's record as GM from his record as a coach, but one way is to look at the season where he was fired. 12-22 under Pitino, 24-24 under Jim O'Brien, with basically the same personnel. Not buying Pitino as an above average NBA coach.
Enjoy hoops in Croatia! Euroleague is a nice place for you my friend.Woj reporting that Bender's option will be declined.
This is what happens when Carmelo and Dwight jump on board. Shit, Dwight hasn't even had to play to make an impact!Suddenly the Rockets and Wizards are terrible.
"Russ don't really like nobody out there, so, you know," George said. "He's that fiery regardless of who's matched up against him. It just doesn't make it any better if it's Pat out there."
Funny article on the 'Zards here: https://www.theringer.com/nba/2018/10/30/18040508/washington-wizards-john-wall-bradley-beal-chemistry.Suddenly the Rockets and Wizards are terrible.
Which is one of the many reasons that Ryan McDonough no longer has a job.Woof, Suns had 2 top 8 picks in the 2016 draft, 4 and 8.
They just declined the option on #4 (Bender, who I have to admit I thought was going to be good)
#8 was traded away for Ryan Anderson... and the Rockets declined his option.
Top 10 picks almost never have the option declined barring major injury, and somehow the Suns drafted 2 of them in the top 8 of the same draft
If you look back at our 2016 draft poll, Bender was our runaway favorite for the Celtics to take at #3 that year, with 40.8% in favor (including myself, shamefully). Dunn came in 2nd at 21.5%, and Murray 3rd and 14.6%. Jaylen was 4th at 13.8%. I blame Porzingis; after the Knicks hit on him the year before, the idea of a 7 foot Euroleager who could shoot threes and switch on defense got us all salivating. But worth noting that McDonough wasn't totally out of left field on that one.Woof, Suns had 2 top 8 picks in the 2016 draft, 4 and 8.
