Just want to go on record and apologize to TY for all the bad things I said about him in Summer League. Guy just kept working and getting better. Big props to him.
You weren't alone. I wasn't hating on him but his ineffective chucking early in the season wasn't promising. He isn't just a good shooter. He is demanding the clutch shots.

Kawhi is just too good. Good job by the Blazers to push Toronto - Portland is peaking right now - but their road magic ran out.

I cannot believe I am super stoked to watch a three OT game between the Bulls and the Hawks. But here I am. When is the last time that Vince Carter played 37 minutes in one single game?

I mean, Carter is second on the Hawks to Ice Trae with 39 minutes played. And has played the fifth most minutes of anyone in this game. And for those of you who don't know, he is old AF.

21st all time in minutes played. Only current players who have him beat are LeBron at 18th and Dirk 3rd.

That was fun even if Trae's heroics didn't result in a win. Zach LaVine is a very underrated scorer at this point in time.

Boooo. Bulls win in 4OT, 168-161. Chelsea Lane looked sad. Ice Trae 49 pts, 16 ast, 8 reb. Was totally gassed in the last couple OTs, which is pretty understandable given 56 minutes played.

I only watched the last three OTs, lol, but liked what I saw from Trae much more than LaVine. He never tried to force anything (even with an easily attainable 50 point game in front of him that would have given the ESPN base-ten fetishists epic boners), got everyone involved, and should have had a lot more than 16 assists if his teammates had hit open shots. LaVine was basically a streetballing ballhog who didn't let Markkanen or anyone else make a play for like 15 straight minutes.

Trae's last 5 games points/assists: 30/10, 23/8, 36/8, 36/10, 49/16. Not a bust?

I will slightly disagree. Markkanen looked gassed during the fourth and into the OTs and didn't take a shot, I believe, until the final one. LaVine did get others involved with RoLo, Arcidiacono, and even Shaq Harrison hitting some big shots. Porter had been good prior but he seemed hurt especially during the extra time. Maybe he gets a pass because he is new but Boylen needs to get Lauri running more suicides and burpees after this one.

Trae was, indeed, gassed but the Bulls decided to let any Hawk not nicknamed Trae beat them. They blitzed, doubled and trapped him aggressively which was the right call (that approach might sound familiar for fans of the early part of a certain player whose initials are WSC). So Young was forced to defer to the likes of Alex Len who bumbled a few good looks and cost Trae some dimes as well as 2012 HOF inductee Vince Carter. Trae also missed some open looks and got swatted around the rim too.

Regardless, that game was way more entertaining than a Bulls @ Hawks on March 1 game had a right to be. If I am a fan of both teams, you can take away some very good things. LaVine and Markkanen are solid guys to build with. On the other side, what can you say except that what Young is doing right now is electric and also reminiscent of leaps by other young budding players. If I am a Hawks fan, I am pretty bulled up on him and Collins. They are going to be fun to watch going forward.

The Land of Fist Pumps
Lakers threw their best punch at the Bucks for 45 minutes. Wasn’t enough as the Bucks rolled them the last 3 minutes.

Lakers pretty much have to beat the Clippers on Monday night. A loss and their playoff hopes are dire.

I love Giannis but this is total bullshit. I hate when players use the off arm to blatantly clear space, and then the defender who had his hands straight up gets called for the whistle. It's even worse when the announcers then totally ignore the fact that it should have been an offensive foul and instead talk about how "strong" a player is. It would be like if a DB was mugging Gronk and the announcers ignore the mugging and talk about "great coverage".

Paging Kliq...

34 points on 12-22 shooting (5-9 from deep) and 11 assists. I was too soon to pronounce Schlenk wrong on this one. Wow...
You paged Kliq instead of the one actual Hawks fan on SoSH? That would have hurt my feelings, except Ice Trae numbs all of my pain. (An epic tanking loss, by the way - Alex Len doing heroic work, there.)

Adam Silver on the all star game in it's current format: “I get it. We put an earring on a pig.” He wants to replace the ASG with a midseason tournament or some other event.
Good for him. I find the game unwatchable, and I guess the ratings weren't too good.

Sorry CP. I should have added you as well.

Your young core is great. And kudos to Len who seemed to be gassed at the end for helping to fumble the game away.

Here is the best thing for you though - the Hawks are entertaining and fun to root for. That alone is gold and you cannot say that about a lot of better teams *cough* Celtics *cough*.
