Spanish media saying Casillas to Liverpool.

Portuguese media speculating Marco Silva will sign with Porto.

Pepe's contract is up. He really wants to stay; but PSG, Inter, and China will be looking to get him to move.

I hate the "throw every name at the wall so you can claim one later" approach of the media. Why would Liverpool want Casillas? He's never played in the EPL and doesn't have much left in the tank. At best, his leadership and organization would be a wash against Mignolet's shot stopping.

Does anyone think Mbappe moves this summer?

James is apparently out at Real Madrid, and Chelsea and Man City have been linked at destinations.

I'm guessing Morata leaves Real Madrid and ends up at Chelsea.

Count me as wanting 0 to do with Casillas.

For whatever it's worth, the rumor started by AS said there was also interest from China - which is not possible, as the Chinese Super League does not allow non-Chinese goalkeepers.

I'd be pretty shocked if Liverpool replace Mignolet this summer. His major weakness was a failure to command his box .. a weakness that seems to have been resolved going by the run in.

Klopp has a pretty well publicized shopping list .. Van Dyke, Sessegnon, Keita .. and one of Brandt, Costa or Salah.

I don't think so. From what I've read, Mbappe is only going to RM and there's no space there ATM. One more season at Monaco should open up things at the Bernabeu. It will be interesting to see how RM plan for the post-CR and Benz phase of the team. I don't think Bale is A) all that good or B) staying at RM much longer. It seems Isco and Asensio are ready to take over regular starting roles, but I don't think Lucas Vazquez is a world class striker.

James would be great at Liverpool or Arsenal. Arsenal don't have the money for him though, and he may be too duplicative at Anfield. City would be interesting because there is a bit of a logjam with KDB, Silva, and Jesus. Same over at Chelsea with Hazard and Cesc. Will likely come down to who wants to pay the most. I can't see anyone going to 60M, and likely think they settle closer to 50M. At 40M or less, he's a steal. PSG could be a player here. Less likely would be a Wolfsburg, Napoli, Sevilla, Valencia type.

My guesses on biggest transfers.

Mbappe to Real.
Griezmann to United (whether they win today or not).
Alexis to Bayern.
De Gea to Real.
James to PSG.
Lukaku to Chelsea.
Costa to China.

I met Griezmann today in Boston! Seriously. The French woman who was with him said, "Excuse me, we are eating lunch" before I could say "DON'T GO TO UNITED!".

Edit: I said it all in Spanish, too. My mistake was not pretending that I don't understand English.

With David Silva getting up there it's a great move for City and one that I'm actually happy United didn't complete. But for City and Pep I think he's perfect.

City may also get their new left and right back soon. Walker and Mendy. They are both excellent players so City seem to be reloading perfectly. Some people will moan about the fees being turned around but that's football now.

Looks like Simeone is not leaving Atletico. Their director of football was approached by PSG, but he didn't take the job. Simeone staying played a role in him turning Paris down. The Portuguese press says PSG are after Jorge Jesus as manager.

Bernardo's fee is 60 million, which in essence ties Figo's transfer to RM (60.1) for second highest transfer for a Portuguese player.

Zabaleta may be in decline, but given how little we had there last season I'd expect him to play quite a bit. Also a great guy to help Creswell and Byram learn.

Wow, did not see the Tuchel news coming. Apparently, he can be a dickbag. But, I would've loved him at Barca. I think he will land a very good job. Musacchio to Milan is very good business.

Tuchel was rumored to be out ASAP if they did not turn the tie vs Benfica. The relationship clearly got worse when he publically criticized the club over the rescheduling of the Monaco match. He'll get another job, but Dortmund is a top club. He's going to take a step back before he gets another job that is comparable.

Apparently that source isn't official - I'm certainly hoping it isn't to keep the 1% chance he'd come to Anfield alive.

Other tidbits today:

- Everton reportedly bid £8m for Jordan Pickford
- Villarreal sign Enes Ünal from City for €14m - City reportedly hold a €20m buyback
- Newco have signed Bruno Alves
- AC Milan have a deal with Lazio for Lucas Biglia
- Riyad Mahrez has requested a transfer from Leicester City
- Everton are close to signing Cuco Martina from Southampton, I'm sure with many thanks to one Neil Taylor

Biglia may be a good purchase for the current state of Milan, but I'm consistently underwhelmed by his performance on the Argentina NT. He is a mobile DMF, who doesn't have incisive passing. He helps retain possession in the MF, although I think he's a pretty decent defender. Basically, a poor man's Masche (DMF edition).

Terrifying is overstating it, but he didn't shine during his last EPL stint. Obviously, still young and has been great in Serie A, but the £38m for Mané was easier to accept given that he came in as a proven EPLer.

Everton fans pissing and moaning over the £8m offer for Pickford. Sunderland want £30 which is nuts IMO, but 8 is likely way too low. Everton fans are like abuse victims, expecting the team to underbid all summer and get no one and nothing.

I get the angst, and management does need to splash the cash this offseason, and Pickford is a decent player, but I'm not going to get too bent if they don't break the bank for him.

I don't have a strong opinion of Salah as a player. But I think its hard to hold that EPL stint against him, given that Mourinho was the coach and he was given such a short time to prove himself. He was literally only there half a season before being shipped out again and its not like he was awful (2 goals and 2 assists in 500 minutes playing on the wing). Being quickly cast aside by Mourinho in those years isn't exactly damning, given that players like De Bruyne, Lukaku, Mata, and Cuadadro all shared the same fate.

A few different journalists and papers are running with the same story that United aren't going to buy Griezmann anymore. The articles say they want an out and out striker rather than a number 10 this window.

The timing is curious, with Atletico's transfer ban being upheld this morning as well.

Curious ? Seems pretty likely Griezmann is staying because Atletico can't replace him.

Sounds more like Man U spinning like they didn't want him anyways.

If ManU pays his release clause, can Atletico refuse to sell? In other words, if ManU wants him, can't they just pay the clause and Griezmann leaves?

Yeah, it doesn't add up. United might have trouble affording Griezmann and, say, Lukaku, but they could easily buy Griezmann and a CF in the 30M range (like bringing Chicharito back) and use a CF rotation of that guy, Rashford, and Zlatan (assuming he is brought back).

Also, I think the notion of Griezmann as a 10 - and therefore not really being a necessity - is totally off base. His best role in a Mourinho side would be as the wide forward with a relatively free role and few defensive responsibilities (Eto'o at Inter, Ronaldo at Real, Hazard at Chelsea). United don't have anybody who can convincingly play that role right now so its not like there isn't a real need that Griezmann would fill.

Like other clubs, United have a history of denying they were interested in players who turn them down. I still think they might end up with Griezmann but if he doesn't come then the most likely scenario is that Atleti offered him a pay raise and he simply said no to United, with the club's transfer ban probably playing a role in that.

To be clear, I agree with everything written above. I think the player changed his mind...whether its because he used United to leverage a new deal or whether he doesn't want to leave Atleti because they can't bring in anyone else is up for interpretation. I also think he can play anywhere across the front 4 in a 4-2-3-1 or in a 4-3-3. I'm just stating what journalists are going with (meaning what they were briefed on by their source at United).

So, it looks like MAN U have released Zlatan. Color me a bit surprised. But, there's a lot of smoke with Morata coming in to replace him. Lukaku is still likely to move, but with Chelsea likely saying goodbye to Diego Costa, that's another reasonable landing spot. I know he is a royal pain in the ass, but world class strikers ain't exactly growing on trees. Chelsea better have a good option to replace or I could see a serious drop off next season. James is still a big piece that will certainly be moved. I think he should end up in Italy, but I really have no idea.

Zlatan has been released but will complete his recovery while in Manchester at United's Carrington base. I'm not surprised considering he won't be healthy til January at the earliest. See how the team is shaking out and how his recovery is going then make the decision.

I have not seen much of Morata and was surprised to find out he was 6'2''. From what I'm reading around the internet it wasn't so much of his talent being the question as much as Benzema is just the perfect 9 for this Madrid team. His goal per minute average is very good and supposedly hes good at holding the ball up and facilitating as well as scoring.

James will move on. Rumors are that Inter are trying to fund a move for him while United may or may not be interested. Every club in the world should be after him though...I think he got a raw deal at Madrid.

If I had to find a knock on Morata, it was that he tends to disappear from smaller games. He was fantastic for Juve in the CL the year before he returned to Madrid. I'd have been thrilled if Juventus had been able to hang on to him.
