Seems like he could be a no harm-no foul candidate.Bowman thrice made the Pro Bowl in a 49ers' uniform, and was an All-Pro four times. He had 38 tackles and one pass defended in five games this season, and his career line stands at 808 tackles, 12.5 sacks, four interceptions, seven forced fumbles, and five fumble recoveries.
This is one of those situations where there are probably 31 other teams that have some level of interest, and it's going to be more about Bowman's mindset and desires than anything else. Assuming good health, he fits any system and would make any team better the day he signs, even if he isn't playing every down (the 49ers began reducing his snaps last week). One question the Patriots would probably be asking: How much of an upgrade would he be over David Harris?
Dubinsky throws like 5 passes a game. I'm not sure how great an opportunity this is for Inman.WR Dontrelle Inman traded to the Bears for a conditional 7th rounder. He'll certainly get more opportunities in Chicago than LA.
Better than being the 5th WR on a team with 2 good pass catching TEs.Dubinsky throws like 5 passes a game. I'm not sure how great an opportunity this is for Inman.
Deal makes sense for both sides, I think. Limited hit for this year and cuttable next. Overall a brutal contract for Buffalo, he gave them very little. He’s got about 12ish million in dead money left, too.Dareus to Jags. That defense is turning into a sick unit.

If it's base salary, I'm pretty sure the acquiring team pays and takes the cap hit. I don't think the guarantee changes anything.Question - Which team pays guaranteed base salary after a trade? Is it the original signor or the team that takes him on? Dareus has some guaranteed base next year and I’m not sure which team pays that portion. I know with signing bonus, it’s already paid and hits the signor’s cap. Not sure if this is treated differently since it’s not already paid.
This is correct as far as I know. The Patriots took on guaranteed salary when they traded for Isaac Sopoaga a few years ago.If it's base salary, I'm pretty sure the acquiring team pays and takes the cap hit. I don't think the guarantee changes anything.
Yeah, I knew how bonus money and regular base salary was calculated, I just wasn’t sure if guaranteed base salary was treated more like a signing bonus. Looks like essentially Jax owes him 10+ mil next year, since 7.5 is guaranteed and they won’t cut him to save a couple million. That’s a lot for a guy with his numbers the past 3-4 years. But they get him at a pretty decent rate this year.Justin think of when the money was paid.
Already paid Signing bonus? Accelerates into original team.
Roster bonus not paid yet? Goes against whatever team you are on when it triggers.
Guaranteed salary would hit the team that pays it. So if it's guaranteed next year. Then new team takes the cap hit.
If the playoffs started today they’d be playing the Pats so hope not! Definitely agree that this is a very dangerous team. Defense is very good and Fournette can be a handful. Really want a bye and for KC/Pitt to have to deal with them.Calling it now - Jags win a first round game this year
Landry is on his last year of rookie contract.---Landry traded?---
Picks mean nothing when you have no ability to effectively use those picks.RBs are the easiest position to replace of any. Dolphins aren't going anywhere so why not trade off pieces of value and get back as many picks as you can? This is a good deal for both sides IMO.
Would love to have him back. Gillislee is no Blount, that is clear.I'm sure Blount is thrilled
There were reports that Ajayi became combative towards the coaching staff so there's that. RBs are a dime a dozen man. You can pick them off the scrap heap and get good value. The trade makes sense.Picks mean nothing when you have no ability to effectively use those picks.
On a talent bare roster, Ajayi’s value was far more than a 4th round pick, which is the equivalent of a lottery ticket for this franchise.
I understand he may not be worth more to other teams in a trade...but the point would be don’t trade him then.
There has to be something more behind the scenes...
I see the foreboding Landry posts above. I would actually understand that trade, simply because of the contract signing. I’m a fan of Landry and can appreciate what he does (he’s another actual talent and you can count on your fingers the talented guys they’ve staged the past 5 or so years), but I understand that skill set not fitting the contract size he’s wanting/expecting.
He was over 5YPC the previous 4 games and still at 4.7YPC on the season.30 carries for 77 yards last 2 games for Blount. Probably why Philly made the Ajayi deal.
Gillislee has a $3.5 dead cap hit this year. He salary actually goes down next year as it was 2-year front-loaded salary.Would love to have him back. Gillislee is no Blount, that is clear.
Flip Gillislee for a late rd pick that can be flipped for Blount.
Hmmm -- Landry's work ethic plays into the (assumed) trade?
