I love the Masters app and the streaming coverage, but WTF with these morning feature groups? Is there any good reason they can't run a group two days in a row? How do you not have McIlroy and Rahm on as much as possible given that they will probably be off the course before ESPN starts up? What about Sergio/Westwood/Lowry?Featured groups:
Am
Willett, Kuchar, Luck
Cabrera, Stenson, Hatton
There is no App. You have to Airplay through a computer or iPad or iPhone to get it on Apple TV.Danny Willett throwing up on himself with an 8 on the first hole.
Random question. I have a 3rd generation Apple TV. I don't see the Masters App on it anywhere. Anyone know if it's available?
Geoff Shackelford has been raving about the Apple TV app on Shackhouse this week. I don't have Apple TV so I am no help, but strange that Shack has brought it up twice if it doesn't exist. There is no App. You have to Airplay through a computer or iPad or iPhone to get it on Apple TV.
edit - just to clarify, there is no App on Apple TV. Obviously there is an app available on your phone, tablet, or computer.
Yeah, everywhere I read said there was and I was hoping I didn't have to use the phone to Airplay. Not a big deal I suppose, at least I have the Masters on TV.There is no App. You have to Airplay through a computer or iPad or iPhone to get it on Apple TV.

He has been raving about it. I have a Roku and a Fire TV, so I can't airplay to my TV, but I have an iPad HDMI cord, so I that works for me. I can still get it on the TV, but when it comes to following groups around or watching Amen corner, I don't really need to have it on my TV.Geoff Shackelford has been raving about the Apple TV app on Shackhouse this week. Especially when none of them are a birdie.Five different numbers for six players is pretty impressive.

So what you're saying is he's out of Luck?Curtis Luck just hit a shot on 4 that reveals him to be a true amateur.
He avoided a lost ball by hitting into the gallery and he just hit an unbelievable recovery shot to two feet. So maybe his name is apt?So what you're saying is he's out of Luck?
Bleh.
I am a Roku/Fire stick guy, too. Considering picking up a Chromecast so that I can put the early coverage on a bigger tv this weekend. I am eager to learn what the app coverage is going to be for streaming Sox games whenever that comes on this season - if they will have a Roku/Fire app, then my need for Chromecast is less obvious and I go with the HDMI cord from my laptop for this weekend, but I can't find any details on NESN's streaming plan other than that it is coming. He has been raving about it. Speaking of Shackhouse, I listened to the Masters preview and I'm usually a fan of House but his performance in that preview was legitimately grating. His inflection and emphasis on his SAT words was overwhelming everything else. I almost turned it off in multiple spots but I really wanted to hear what they had to say. Come on House!
The Fore Play Golf podcast from Barstool has blown past ShackHouse for me. They get a lot of great player guests (but not necessarily great players) and treat the game like us shmucks would. Zero douchiness, some awkwardness, but fun golf talk.I still listen to Shackhouse because golf talk is fun, but the live ad reads are absurd, Shack is still a douche, House can be a dummy, and their guests have not added much recently - the Criquet shirts guys? Shack's dad (although I never realized he was related to the UCLA hoops legend)? No Laying Up has surpassed Shackhouse in my mind as my favorite golf podcast, especially when Solly gets really good stuff from Rory, Bones, and also good media types like Porter and Bacon for the Masters preview.
So it appears I'm not in the minority. Shackhouse bothers me, it's the only Ringer podcast I don't like. But I need a golf podcast. Shackleford reminds me of everyone's idea of a grumpy old sportswriter or a golf writer. He complains about the stupidest things. The example I remember is him complaining about all the young guys taking a spring break last year and being all over social media about it. There are other examples where I roll my eyes (he often uses "these millenials") and while I like House, he doesn't really make it worth it. I gave up on it too.So it appears I'm not in the minority. Shack's latest rant was about hardwood floors. He prefers the soft embrace of a shag carpet, apparently. I'll second ForePlay. They aren't the most informed guys but do get great guests and are able to get them in a more relaxed environment. They also talk about actually playing with their buddies.
The inevitable collapse still to come will also be entertaining, but we probably won't see that, either?Sergio now with 3 birdies through 3, but who would want to watch that?
Those are the ads you're sick of enough to complain about? Not the endless erectile dysfunction and diarrhea/constipation ads airing during most golf tournaments?I'm also sick of seeing promotions for the damn Drive, Chip and Putt Challenge.
One of the great things about the Masters is the limited commercial interruptions, so you really don't get those -- just a few minutes each hour with commercials from two or three companies. The Drive, Putt thing just seems to be all over the telecast this year. Of course, the best was the year that Martha Burk protested and the Masters just decided to have no commercials at all. Those are the ads you're sick of enough to complain about? He always finds a way to be in the top 5 on Friday and sometimes on Saturday. It's so impressive. He usually falters but it doesn't matter, it's awesome.Freddie Couples is -3 through 5 and only two shots back.
It is and every year I hope he carries it into Sunday. I'd love it if he was in contention on Sunday one last time.He always finds a way to be in the top 5 on Friday and sometimes on Saturday. It's so impressive. He usually falters but it doesn't matter, it's awesome.
In 2012 he was leading after the 2nd round and in 2013, he was 2nd after the 2nd round. T7 in 2014. And then it all fell apart on Saturday or Sunday and he wasn't involved. He missed the cut in 2015 and withdrew last year. So his success in the early rounds has been unbelievable. It is and every year I hope he carries it into Sunday. I think his course knowledge is so valuable to that, but by the time Saturday/Sunday rolls around, his back starts barking and he doesn't have the stamina anymore. I'd have to think such a long week, more intense preparation and facing four rounds instead of three all are a big change from the average week on the Champions Tour.In 2012 he was leading after the 2nd round and in 2013, he was 2nd after the 2nd round. I think he was involved in 2010, too.
I can't tell on my phone, how high on the flag stick did it hit?Rory got totally hosed on 18. Hit an amazing approach that hit the flag and rolled way off the green. He hit a very good chip but then missed the par putt.
I didn't see a super slo-mo so I'm not sure, but Nantz and Faldo were saying it probably would have been a kick inI can't tell on my phone, how high on the flag stick did it hit?
