California. Duh.
That was awesome. Got home just in time to see the goal.

Audio on the mobile app is nice, but live and in color is better.

Lots of good to take away from this game, I though.  Spooner, Cunningham and Robins didn't look out of their element, and of the three I thought Spooner looked really good for the most part.

Krug played good on both ends.  I think him and Miller are gonna be a solid 3rd D pairing.

The power play looks more aggressive than I remember it being recently.  I feel like it might allow them to be successful, but I also feel like it could lead to some going the other way.  The PK looked more aggressive to me, too.

The Yeti, Loui, Kelly line looks legit.  That is going to be one hell of a third line weapon.

Dougie can't possibly get any worse.

Hamilton could have played a better game, everyone piling on. If turnovers are your gripe, be careful of the Bartkowski you are wishing for.

Bergy is absurd. hockeystats.ca (I miss Extra Skater, damnit) had Bergy's even strength Corsi at +16 (22-6) mostly against the Giroux line. Giroux himself was -18 for the game. Oh and Bergy went 10/12 at the dot against Giroux and 78% overall for the game. Crazy good.

Overall they looked good for stretches, then there were stretches where it looked like a team that hadn't played together in 5 months. Seemed like a typical early season game, great to get a win.

I also enjoyed this play by Robins and Cunningham immediately thereafter:

The little town of Bethlehem.
Certainly, two of the Hanson brothers approve.

Rinaldo was stunned and hurt that he was sandwiched like that. I find this to be amusing.

Edit: sorry your day sucks so far, TSC.

Between here and everywhere.

Schenn was chirping in the box the entire time he was in there. Until a fan in a refs uni told him he was going to kill his whole family with a knife. Then he just looked kind of disturbed and shut up.

"I know the brand of hockey these Boston fans like, and I just hope to be able to provide that. And to get that kind of reception was a great feeling," said Robins, who chatted with Schenn in the penalty box. "He was asking if it was my first NHL game. So, I said, `Yeah.' He just said, `Good fight' -- the normal stuff guys say after a fight."

About that.....

Welllll played. "So... what country should we have as the bad guys? Do we go Russia?" "Eh, that's a little heavy for a kid's movie." "I got it! Iceland! Get it?! Guys... get it?"

Really enjoyed the opener. Bergeron was like a man possessed.
