Even DARKO misses sometimes I guess....

He actually sometimes looks half decent, but in the preseason and this game, not so much.
Advanced stat systems often struggle with backup bigs- who tend to shoot at a high % and have decent rebounding numbers but not actually be that good outside of backup context.

The NBA is so deep now. The Knicks have 3 guys I like and depth and have no shot at the title.

It's a good thing Jaylen got his $.

He would have been pretty sad being the 4th best player on this team.

Maybe he still is...
The 2-4 positions are probably going to change on a nightly basis.

the 2nd quarter has been way too much wing 1 on 1 and hasn’t put the ball in Porzingis’ hands enough. He’s not on the level of Jokic but I like when we use him as a hub and let the talent work off him. It doesn’t matter how good your teammates are if Brown and Tatum are going to continue to play my turn your turn offense

With Zinger spacing the floor, JT can just get to the rim at will lol

I don’t mind coach Joe experimenting with lineups. Now is the time to do it.
Maybe this makes me reactionary or dumb but I really don’t think you should be experimenting in game 1 on national tv.

It’s not a huge deal but I think that’s more for your random Tuesday night against the Pistons

Tatum has been incredible, but it feels like the C's should be up by a lot more than five at the half.

what does national TV have a try ng to do with it? I'd be pissed if my coach was incorporating the media for any aspect of in game strategy

Ah, lazy no-box out at buzzer ...

Would like to see the ball zipping around more on offense; it got a bit sticky in the second quarter. But Porzingis -- incredible. And Holiday's defense is truly something to watch. I think he's a level above Smart.

Tatum and Porzingis were awesome. Holiday was solid. White in foul trouble. It happens. Bench looked shitty and that’s probably how it’s gonna be if they aren’t hitting threes.

However my reactionary hot take after the first half of the season: I’m worried about Jaylen “head down” Brown’s fit on this team. He went ISO almost every time he got the ball.

It’s game 1 and a bigger deal. That’s why I put the National tv thing in.

I’m not pissed regardless, I think it’s stupid but ultimately not a big deal.

In the way Jokic makes pretty good guys play like stars, Tatum and Jrue have Zinger looking like a top guy.

Nerve racking just seeing updates of the box score. Didn't read like a good quarter for Brown.

I love the optimism but I don’t think those two things are even remotely similar.
Jokic is an all time passer and incredibly unique

Here
Porzingis looks like Bill Russell in the paint. They are afraid to move on him.

Anyone else get a 4patriots prepper commercial on ESPN there? Then it was followed by Flex Seal. That’s the level of advertising they’re getting on opening night?

That whole possession leading to the Tatum and One,, was set up because White pushed that ball up the court, and the Knicks were out of position quickly.
