What possible reason could Scal have to not share that incredibly tame story? What a weirdo

Not a whole lot of defense either way in that quarter. But if Celtics can hang for three quarters this way I suspect they have a few minutes of good D in them when needed?

I have no doubt that if JB was on a scrub team that he could lead the league in scoring.

Not sure the C's are going to win a track meet.
They definitely can, but it plays right into Indy's hands because that's how they want to play. On the other hand, a big part of Boston's half court success is due to Tatum's playmaking and gravity. Celtics will have to keep shooting well.

I guess Scal is calling that a 2-1-2 zone and after looking at it a few times I agree, though what you call a zone is probably less important than the rules the zone follows. They only really play it when Haliburton is on the bench, which makes sense. I guess Holiday is making that call, supposedly? I like that idea. It gets the player thinking about the game that way.

Time for White and Jrue to D up and make shots.

That push by DWhite was one of the main reasons I wanted Smart out of Boston, and White taking his minutes.

I said it the other night and I'll say it again: Indy has a bunch of guys who live between "chippy" and "dirty" and Celtics would be wise to send Stevens out there to show some physicality.

I know a lot of people don't like that approach---and as I've seen the NBA, you simply have to respond to that both to get refs to call it more closely and demonstrate there are repercussoins for cheap shots. Hoping that teams who play this way will magically decide to stop just isn't real.

Standings show Pacers are 20-15 but that must be wrong. I’m guessing they’re really maybe 30-5 or so based on how they carry themselves.

Agree with this. All fun and games until someone undercuts JB because they’re frustrated.

Stevens with a lead pipe will stop this nonsense

I don't see how that's legal guarding position.

I'd be OK if they wanted to change the rules and say that offensive players who initiate contact against players not in legal guarding position is a non-call. But that's not how they call the game these days.

This is an interesting review---there's an obvious body foul by Nembhard first, and then an iffy offensive foul wtih the arm hook by JB. But they only called the second live.

Probably on the merits should be on the defense, but going to guess it stands as called...which is a pretty soft offensive foul. If CJM can get a word into the discussion I'd note that the only reason Jaylen raising his arm looks like a foul is the defender was already contacting him - and if he weren't no contact there

Nesmith is the only player on their roster with a shot of guarding Brown.
