As good citizens of NatsTown, I think we need to get as many Natinals on the All-Star team as possible.

Specifically, Lastings Milledge is on the NL All-Star ballot. He needs to make the team. Nothing would be more NatsTown than having the Natinals' (lone?) All-Star game representative be a AAA player for whom the organization has no plan.

How can we make this happen?

If 4chan can rig the Time Person of the Year vote, surely NatsTown! can get Milledge on the to All-Star team. Make it happen.

BTW, the Natinals have staged an impressive rally tonight, from down 4-0 to up 7-4. Rob Dibble is getting pretty cocky. I can't wait to see how they blow this one.

Oh, and I'll vote for Lastings as many times as I am allowed, from as many computers as I can find. That's the extent of my devotion to NATSTOWN.

yeah, i just switched over. We all know what will happen with Red Sox v Yankees, but you just NEVER know what kind of hijinx the Nats will be up to.

We're waiting until June for the "Stephen Strasbourg Drug OD Prediction Thread", right? I just want to make sure that I don't miss out on future bits of NATSTOWN lore.

No, no, no. This is NATSTOWN. He'll either trip over a stack of Lego's while visiting a children's hospital, or get his sleeve caught in an electric pasta machine. Or something. That's how we roll.

I know the first time I posted the "patients" sign you thought you were excited. But thanks to a PM I actually dug up the original article it was posted on (here: Washington Post) and this is what I read:

QUOTE
This message, posted for all to see on one of the large screens in the stadium, was a gem: "Thank you for sticking with us. The current weather system be passing soon. Thank you for your patients." But they quickly corrected that misinformation. (I took the picture above seconds after they fixed one part of the screen message but before someone fixed the spelling of patience.)

That's right, the sign that everyone here loves so much was photographed AFTER it was corrected!

NATSTOWN!

For the record, I went down from Philly for a Phitins/Nats game last year and found the stadium there to be the exact same as Citizens Bank Park, just with BBQ in place of cheesesteaks.

If this happened I would be ecstatic. A resurgence of Pedro Martinez in the form of NatsTown. I would not be entirely surprised if he put up this line:

20 GS, 100 IP, 150 SO, 30 BBs, 1.25 ERA, .95 WHIP, 1-16 W-L

I'm in for the B-Ref page, and I also support a non-Sox SoSH NatsTown outing. I'll even volunteer to try and get us a group deal if we have enough interest.

Is anyone going to the game for the Cinco de Teddy t-shirt today?

OK, we've got about 5 or 6 people who've expressed interest so far. If we can get 12, that's around $10 a piece.

Anyone else?

I'll definitely throw in for both a chunk of the B-Ref page and one of those t-shirts, if anyone gets an angle on them.

Great thread -- this must be how people felt about the '62 Mets.

Thank you for your patients. Amazing. Do they not screen resumes in Natstown?

I'm at that ball park all the time - how can I not get on the b-ref page? Count me in as well.

They are truly the MLB equivalent of the Bad News Bears, and that includes the front office, management, coaching staff and players, if that is possible. They are our lovable losers. I never had an NL team to root for, but how can you not root for this bunch of mutts?

I don't know how I've missed this thread for so long. I moved away from DC a couple years ago so most of my Nats games came at the old RFK where they sold tickets out of converted cargo containers and would rarely even clean up after games (I once found a hotdog under my seat that was at least a few games old).

I might have someone pick up a Tavarez Nationals Tshirt if they can find one, to cement my membership in Natstown.

I don't think they're available yet. He probably has to blow a few more saves. Unless you make your own jersey.
